Let’s not pull a Joy Behar and start spreading misinformation for the sake of a narrative. I’ve consistently said the updates would be minor—no massive changes like a new engine—because Toyota isn’t looking to jack up prices in this economy. The B58 is already one of the best engines out there, so there’s no reason to overhype something that isn’t happening.Weren’t you one of the guys implying the S58 would be put in the car? I too thought about that, who is actually craving a FWD sports car in todays generation? The same chassis and AWD setup from the GR Corolla is my guess….but with only 2 doors (4 seats).I guess the big question is what generation Celica will the Mk8 be modeled after. The RWD Mustang competitor of the A generations, the FWD/AWD T generations, or the ultra light (2400lbs) FWD of the 7th gen.
If it's RWD, it steps on the toes of the 86, if it's AWD, it competes with the GRC, and if it's FWD, no one will care, regardless of how light they can make it.
I find the GRC to be at a perfect power level for street use. Really fun to rip around in all circumstances without getting into too much trouble.I would like to see that new 400 hp 4 cylinder go into a GR Corolla variant. Now that would be a fun little hot hatch.

wow, sounds like it'll be a while until we see the new Supra then. The Lexus "LFR" and new Supra will not be sharing underpinnings.
Damn NHTSA FMVSS compliance.
My guess is they're trying to figure out the powertrain of the A100The Lexus "LFR" and new Supra will not be sharing underpinnings.

No surprise there unless Toyota had a $XXX,XXX price tag in mind for the A100. For affordable sake it makes more sense if it shares bones with the RC/LC replacement as reported by Japanese media. The Lexus "LFR" and new Supra will not be sharing underpinnings.

Don’t know how Toyota can be releasing 2-3 new sports cars for 2026 that will be somewhat obtainable price wise. Their basic Tacomas are sitting on lots at $50K.No surprise there unless Toyota had a $XXX,XXX price tag in mind for the A100.
