Ya fair points there. I do drive the Supra to work sometimes too. It has other challenges of just having 2 seats and not being great for transporting larger purchases, but it is still a great daily as well. My wife also drives the Polestar from time to time, so I have another need. I do love my Supra and all, but never having to go to the gas station is pretty nice (I hate buying gas). As I said above, if you can have 2 cars, EVs are best daily. I would not say that about owning just 1 car due to the infrastructure not quite being there yet. Then there is the preference and I have owned a manual car since I started driving 20+ years ago. But to your fun comment, the 23' Polestar 2 Performance is pretty fun as well. It is 12.2 quarter mile car and pulls hard and its got good suspension and big Brembo brakes. A heavy car and nothing like the Supra, but I am still enjoying that one too!

Noticed you have a Miata as well. Respect there. My first sports car was a NB. Wish I never got rid of that thing. Mine was heavily modded and had role bars and everything..lol. Nice Mix of Supra and NC you have there.
I understand your point of view as well. And yes, having a drop-top bumps up the fun factor on another level. My NC Miata would never be a long-commuter car, as the noise gets to me after a while, but for driving on back roads on a beautiful day, the MX5 is tough to beat. As you know, you look at the speedometer while doing 60 and it feels like 90 - just the opposite with the Supra or EVs.

Microwave brisket is king of cooking
Very fast and convenient
No smoker or BBQ pit is touching a microwave when it comes to speed

I had to wait 6 hours for my brisket, so definitely slow

Guess which one tastes better ?

I guess my opinion has always been that life is too short for daily vehicles that are not lots of fun.
Yeah, I never get these folks who have 3 really nice cars and a 1985 Chevrolet "beater" to drive 90% of the time to "save" the nice cars. Bah.

Anyway, back to the OQ: yes, I rode in a Plaid. I got a headache from the torque. It is stupid fast. And speaking of stupid, why do you have to use the touchscreen to change from forward to reverse? That's a deal breaker for me.

OTOH, I've test driven the Model S a couple of times and I really liked driving it. Between the cost, the perceived lack of luxury (considering the cost) and my range anxiety, I never bought one. But I can definitely see the attraction.

I've also test driven (and had as service loaners) some of the BMW EV offerings, and they are fun too, but after the novelty wears off, I do miss the engagement of an ICE, especially when properly equipped with three pedals.

"Fun" typically includes sights, sounds, and other physical sensations. Imagine going on a rollercoaster that was perfectly silent - no screaming sounds or clicking of the track.
I was given a ride in an open cockpit bi-plane. It wasn't fast but WAS lots of fun. Ditto for driving a Vanderhall Venice.

Not really a fan of Tesla and I never thought I'd own an EV but I recently purchased an Ioniq 5 N for my daily which is quick as hell and an f'n blast to drive!

Did a trackday at autobahn cc over the summer, ran into a guy that was tracking his plaid. it was comical to see him rocket out of a hairpin and disappear into the sunset. You don't appreciate how much power that car has until you're behind it.

Funnily enough, he brought a battery powered leaf blower along because the car goes apeshit with brake temperature warnings.

All that being said, if you sit shotgun in any EV, you can totally feel the driver modulate the accelerator pedal while just cruising in traffic. People claiming that it's an appliance with no feel must have some numb butts.

By just letting the dust settle…. this is where a free market economy can pay dividends. No longer need an 80s Pontiac beater to keep your really nice ICE cars miles down. Can pickup a lightly used EV for a massive savings ? - Some articles/peeps claim they also got a $4k tax credit to boot ?

Love it. NGL, I might have ended up with one of these instead of my Supra if they came out a little earlier. But there's hope that I replace the wife's car with one, she loves the IONIQ5s.

Are those the factory wheels? They look spectacular. 90s vibes.

The I5N is a blast and certainly lives up to all the "best of" awards it's received this past year...

The wheels are HRE FF11 21x9.5 and are relatively new design for them released in 2020....I think they match the angles and overall vibe of the I5N perfectly!

It's probably somewhat like having a Z06. Most people will think it is a $40k less expensive C8 until they try to race it. In some respects, it is like a "sleeper" that doesn't stand out until the pedal is to the floor.
I would imagine that this is somewhat like a Z06 in that most drivers would think it's a $40K less expensive C8 until they try to race you. In that regard, the car is a "sleeper".

Ha! I think the HRE FF11s really suit the I5Ns angular design lines perfectly...

I've owned over 30 new cars in my lifetime and am finding that Hyundai is really kicking ass these days over other cars I've owned such as BMWs and Mercedes...

I rank the I5N up there with my 5 top favorite sports cars I've owned....

I have a pretty basic Supra build with a JB4 and it feels great. Then I had a ride in a Tesla plaid. Yikes. It’s so sterile and ugly and horrid and then it slams you in the seat with 1000cc motorcycle acceleration. I hated how much I love it. Wish I could have one with the Supra.
Anyone else?
I have also. our buddy Tim originally started with the S... but then went to the X. Both of which were freakishly quick ESP from a dig. we would be running 2 sometimes 4 people deep and we would WALK anything out there.

....not a Lucid Sapphire. Nothing Tesla makes can outrun the Lucid.
