SPL rear traction arms

I got some rear adjustable toe links for my stock rear end. I can try installing it this weekend and get back to y’all. But I’d need an alignment I’m sure. Is it fine to just match it to the oem length and run it for now?

You unfortunately can't match the existing arm lenth without the toe being off as the eccentric lock out moves the inner bolt location. Try your best to measure from the center of each bolt before the install and match the length but you're gonna definitely need an alignment.

Also make sure to buy the replacement TTY outer bolts. Verkline includes new ones for the inner bolt as they don't have the eccentric lobes.

Bearings are trash and some of the design is a bit suss. I have gone through 3 toe arms already. The "pinch" design keeps breaking.

I went through so many bearings in the front arms I got sick of it and moved to Verkline.
Second Bryan’s remarks. So spot on! SPL sent me replacement bearings for the front adjustable LCAs and she’s up and running again. They shouldn’t have worn out as quickly as they did. I heard they are okay on other cars. But for some reason on our Supra, SPL still needs to get them worked out. They just don‘t last.

I got one Verkline part to replace a slipping rear toe arm (or was it end link?) and the racing buddy/mechanic asked if I could get more like em, lol. He showed me with the car up in the air, how the SPL parts are fighting the articulation needed with a decent track geometry (setup). I could easily see they are being pushed to the limit. The Verkline have more play/wiggle room. So knowing the SPL ones are not going to last under hard tracking, I purchased the entire Verkline front end. Where the majority of my slipping & bearings are wearing out (as we speak). I’ll order the remainder of the rear ones eventually ?. They’re not cheap… but definitely worth it.

Oddly enough, they arrived yesterday. I need to get them on ASAP. Instead of waiting for more SPL parts to break or become loose (like I thought I could do). Bottom line AJRKM, It ended up costing me more to buy them piece mail, down time, repair, replace them separately. I was really hoping they would have lasted longer &/or that Bryan (Razorlab) was wrong… but he wasn’t ? Glad he mentioned it (and on another thread as well) ?

It probably depends on the arm. Lateral loads are higher on track, but vertical loads are probably higher when you hit a pothole.

I wonder if they break under light street driving as well.
Probably not. I’m using camber plates, coilovers & 10mm spacers with my SPL adjustable control arms. Tracking puts a lot more stress on those components than daily driving. There’s a lot of tilt on them. Wish I took a picture when they were showing me. I’ll do that next time she’s up in the air. Before and after the Verkline ones are put on.

I decided to go with the torque solutions traction arms. I havent seen much info on them. I’ll be the guinea pig. The car isnt my daily. I mostly use it for street applications so lets see how the arms hold up

I'm also planning to get the rear toe arms. To me the allen key pinch mechanism on the SPL doesn't convince me that they will last. The screws are so tiny and can't tolerate high torque before the allen receiver get messed up. Even with locktite, I have heared multiple folks saying they get loose inevitably over time for track use, and need to re-torque frequently. The Verkline uses the old and robust centric nut mechanism which is much more robust. However both arms have the exposed monoball bearing, which doesn't have a seal to protect it from water and moisture. Might get rusty and fail over time, or need to check and apply some grease maybe every quarter? Does anyone have experience with this?
I wish there can be a sealed monoball bushing on the market that can be pressed into OEM toe link, so we can have a hard connection that does not compress, just like the Millway monoball front lower control arm and thrust arm bushings. Less than $200 solution and will last a lifetime. Venders and designers please make this happen!

Correction: I double checked Verkline product page, and their toe arm's monoball bushing indeed have a seal boot.
