I hope not. I just bought these. Ugh.
I just pulled the passenger side off and my car is still making the whistling sound so it's probably specific to my car.

This definitely fixed the buffeting tho! And they look great on the car so you should be fine.

I have had the AMS for a few years. No buffeting up to 100+. A little extra wind noise with windows up. I don’t even notice it anymore.

Thanks tkj for all your research. I just ordered option 4 from eBay, hopefully my car arrives in two weeks and I'll have these ready to go.

I'm waiting on my ebay ones to arrive so I can drive with the windows down while it's still nice out.

Any of you guys (and gals) with the Amazon Hypersonic solution have a pic that you can share? I know it's only $10, but I'm not sure how well it fits and actually where to stick them!

TIA.

I went with the hypersonic ones from Amazon and got 2 with and 2 without logo.

Hypersonic Black Car Door Edge Guard Trim Molding Crash Scratch Protector 4PCS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCK6STT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M6N2KC0YWS7V464RW3MR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I have no buffering at any speeds unless I’m turning but it is nowhere near as without.
Before I installed them I was playing with the effect of blocking the buffering by just putting my knuckles and seeing how the effect changed. I think placement is important with these at least IMO. What I don’t like is the way they look. On the flip side, they are so low profile that I forget they are there unless I’m looking for them.
I have the cheapo hypersonic ones and they take care of the buffeting completely for me. Also you don't feel like your window is cracked when its closed. I bought a few pairs and stashed them away...guess seeing your post glad i did. However they've been on for a year now....and in the Sun..and in the car washes...Still look OEM and Still look great.
Reviving an oldish thread to ask how you guys applied the Hypersonic diffusers from Amazon. I assume since my car is ceramic coated I'm prolly gonna have to strip that specific area for better adhesion? And is there any other tips on installation I should know besides cutting them down to fit?
I trimmed off the end with the name and just stuck them on. Best $10 I've ever spent on this car.
I wish I could, but I can't bring myself to pay $70 for 2 little pieces of plastic.
Going with the $10 Hypersonic and hoping it fixes the issues enough.
The problem is that moisture works its way up and inside the shielding. People use taps and call it a day. When ever exposing a wire, use liquid electrical tape to seal the insulation and wires.
Or linemen twist and use a heatshrink tube with adhesive. Wirefy is my go to. Offers a marine grade covering.

Just buy the Ebay ones @GoldenEye posted above. Sure they're overpriced like almost everything for the Supra, but the Amazon $10 ones look awful.

On a relatively expensive sports car, form and function should go hand in hand.

I personally went with the AWE wind diffusers. They're a bit on the expensive side but I can say they work in excess of 120+. I had one minor issue with the passenger side one lifting after a bit and luckily my gf noticed and said something.

I will say their customer service is excellent as I sent an email to them immediately when I noticed probably over a month later ( I want to say it was probably between 2-3 months after my purchase). First I just said I needed some more tape cause I didn't think there would be an issue, however, upon removal I noticed that one had become a bit warped and there was a dimple on the inside of the diffuser I didn't remember seeing before. Did the same process I did the first time when I installed both sides and it hasn't been a problem since and have one extra driver side one now since they had sent me a whole new kit after I contacted them a second time after I had removed the diffuser and saw the issue.

10/10 would recommend only con is the price is a little higher compared to all the other examples

I got a new 25 MT now and this go around I did not install them. Yea they do take care of the buffeting but they increase noise with the windows up. So on this Supra I don’t install them, even though I have a brand new set laying around. I’ll probably put them on for a track day but take them off after.

As for the person that says they look awful I can’t agree. They literally become invisible and you forget about them lol.

I put the AMS ones on the week I bought the car, and honestly I always forget I even have them until a thread like this pops up. They look OEM and work.

I see you have the gloss black - have yours maintained their integrity or has the clearcoat failed? Asking because the clear on mine failed after a couple of years

Look the same as the day I bought them. However, I garage the car and don't daily drive it so it doesn't sit outside in the sun. Only when driving or at track events.

I sold my car. I had no issues with them and you can't really see them since they are in an inconspicuous spot and hidden by the mirror.
