I bought the front and rear SPL end links in December (wish I didn't). When installing them the helm joints were so stiff it was near impossible to move them. Two of the end links had joints that I couldn't even move until I put the end link in a vise and used a pipe to work the ball around. They made a horrible noise when being manipulated. I lubricated them and kept working them to reduce the noise, which worked to a point but they were still difficult to move but not as bad as they were.

Regrettably I installed them thinking they would loosen up over time, they have not. Now I've seen some comments about SPL parts in general failing and not living up to expectations in a couple of threads here, but no threads specifically calling them out.

I suspect others have experienced this. I've also seen similar issues in other forums regarding SPL end links. My intention at this point is to replace them with Verkline, as they're still stiff and make noise. Yes, I shouldn't have installed them and should've taken pics and videos to send to SPL, but I didn't, my bad. However, I still think the problem would still exist even if SPL sent replacement heim joints.

Are SPL parts just trash and this should be expected?

Yes, I know a lot of the OEM suspension parts on this car are made by SPL, but that doesn't mean they're good.

What OEM parts are SPL? I think you might be thinking of the new Z Nismo.

and yes, SPL is trash. I lost count of how many bearings I went through before I gave up and switched to Verkline. I am not alone here either.

If you look at some of the rear and front suspension arms you'll see SPL. on them.

We wish SPL used actual OEM grade bearings/bushings.

If you think that arm is made by SPL I have some bridges for sale you might be interested in.

Yes, I made a mistake, I saw it on the arm at one point and that was the first thing that came to mind (probably bc I was still pissed about the SPL end links). I didn't give it any further thought, obviously I should have.

Anyway, thanks for confirming.

Oh boy this is making me nervous... I have SPL parts on a different car. It didn't have the same issues you mentioned, but I have heard of spherical bearings having issues over time if not regularly exercised and monitored.

Ditto for me as well - with the bearings - unfortunately…. I’ve heard they are better on other makes & models. But yeah, not quite worked out yet on ours.

Has any one had problems with the traction arms? Or is it simply all SPL supra parts which are bad?
