I bought the front and rear SPL end links in December (wish I didn't). When installing them the helm joints were so stiff it was near impossible to move them. Two of the end links had joints that I couldn't even move until I put the end link in a vise and used a pipe to work the ball around. They made a horrible noise when being manipulated. I lubricated them and kept working them to reduce the noise, which worked to a point but they were still difficult to move but not as bad as they were.
Regrettably I installed them thinking they would loosen up over time, they have not. Now I've seen some comments about SPL parts in general failing and not living up to expectations in a couple of threads here, but no threads specifically calling them out.
I suspect others have experienced this. I've also seen similar issues in other forums regarding SPL end links. My intention at this point is to replace them with Verkline, as they're still stiff and make noise. Yes, I shouldn't have installed them and should've taken pics and videos to send to SPL, but I didn't, my bad. However, I still think the problem would still exist even if SPL sent replacement heim joints.
Are SPL parts just trash and this should be expected?
Yes, I know a lot of the OEM suspension parts on this car are made by SPL, but that doesn't mean they're good.
