Have just been for a spirited drive around Holmfirth, West Yorkshire this evening choosing the sweeping curvy roads, with hardly any traffic on, it was fab. Manual gearbox was sweet as a nut, love the rev matching and loads of power on tap, more than enough for Uk roads.

So out of interest aside from race track use, why would you need any more power? when does 0-60 in 4 secs odd become not fast enough ?

I'm personally good with stock power at the moment, but this is pretty easy to answer on behalf of people that push for more power....

Because they want to and it's fun

Mostly bragging rights when it comes to street driving. My 0-60 in 3.7 seconds is fast enough for me.

You'll get used to it, just wait. ;)

Really though, I tuned mine because it wasn't any faster than my FBO GTI was while stock. Really wanted something to put me back in my seat for 6x the price. Your brain recalibrates speed for whatever you are used to.

I don't care about dragy times or dyno numbers for mine, I just know that 450-500whp is more than enough to enjoy if you aren't racing/tracking.

When you still have the maturity of a 16 year old ;)

Stock was OK but definitely wanted more. Now with just a downpipe and e50 tune it struggles for traction with 295s.

People that claim to daily 700-900 whp doesn’t sound fun to me for street driving.

because I live in Florida which means flat straight roads and not a single curvy road for 100 miles in any direction. The only thing to do is get more power so you go zoom-zoom faster in a straight line.

I might be the outlier but I agree with OP. Stock power is tons of fun, especially if the suspension and aero hasn't been touched because let's be real, stock power is TOO much for stock chassis.

My favorite thing to do is make my wife be DD then have her take me on joyrides after a night out. Drunkenly sitting passenger while my wife does a 1-2-3 pull is in a way actually more fun than driving the car itself. I feel like a little kid!

Because you’ll get tired of the automatics beating you in a race. ?

Because you always need more!

I'll be honest though, the biggest issue I found with the car as standard was how anodyne it sounded/felt. A few well selected mods brings it to life...

...then immeadiately follow that with a full stage 3 setup! :drive: :nixon:

Super exciting video. I can see why you need the extra power now.
