Is it normal for my custom map6 with very similar to your boost curve to make the same boost amount as map1? If anything map 1 (acn91) and my map 6 (e20) on the top end (5-6.5k rpm) produce the same amount of boost. If there are differences between my map6 and map1 they are 1-1.5psi at max.
Boost fluctuates based on IATs. Your map 6 is definitely more boost than Map 1 in the same conditions.

I’m still running that custom map 6 on e30 from the last time you helped me with the logs. So far so good.

Might try to upgrade the board with the fuel pressure sensor in the future.
Yep the new connector can make E40 possible

I’m prioritizing the rogue engineering short shifter kit coming out soon. But the new board is the next priority on the list!

Copy that. Map6 I definitely feel a disgusting amount of torque in the middle range vs map1. When it gets hotter my car would run more boost. So, I need to monitor and trim to run more or less E right ?
yes, just try to keep trims 40-45 at max. however much E that takes. Consider trims as your E% gage. typically hotter temps trims will be lower.

when its hot, dme boost targets go higher. so where you may see 12 psi in the cold, its 16 when hot. If your boost add is always +5psi on map 6, you are spoofing 40% more boost when cold and only 31% more boost when hot.

Trims are proportional to the percent of boost spoofed by JB4. and of course ethanol %.

Hope that makes sense.

Just to add to that for anyone who cares, this is why I tend to not use absolute maps. say you target 20psi always. when its cold and the dme wants 12 psi, you are spoofing +8psi and your trims will skyrocket. Then when its hot and the dme wants 16psi, you are only spoofing +4psi, which will feel like a large loss in power. with additive, we are getting +5 all the time. keeps power and trims more steady.

Trims= additional fuel used, so higher trims = more power on the same fuel.

In an ideal situation when e blending, timing is mint and trims are 40-45, meaning you are getting the most power safely out of the JB4.

Have the JB4 Installed.

I’ve read through this entire thread and reviewed the Duty Bias Thread.

Please correct/amend, simple steps

  • Look at throttle curve and adjust FF to correct
  • Review IGN timing to ensure this map is achievable
  • Review AFR is below 15
  • Review Trim below 40
  • Adjust duty bias as needed so that ecu_psi is roughly 1 psi below dme_bt to achieve max power without throttle closures.
    • Disable wastegate adaption for Duty Bias adjustments, set bit 1 off for Duty Bias adjustment, is this still recommended?

1) Adjusted ign2-6 to reflect computed timing corrections rather than absolute timing, a precursor to a JB4 autotuning map.

Does this change how it is reviewed?

Should we be downloading the new pro app if we are already using the original app?

I have the FP sensor, but I'm also in the middle of sending logs back and forth with a tuner. Would switching apps in the middle affect anything?

Granted I missed some lower rpm. The new Pro App uses different names for some of the data points now, no more ecu_psi & dme_bt, no more ig1, only 2-6.

ecu_boost & ecu_target now the new version?

https://datazap.me/u/ruebarb/7225?log=0&data=1-2-9-14-15-18-25-26-27-28-29
yes ecu_boost is ecu_psi and ecu_target is dme_bt. I'll update the main post when I'm more familiar with the new app.

Ign1 is just timing now, ign2-6 are corrections. so where as before we just looked at a drop from the linear timing advance, now you just want ign2-6 to be close to 0 for the entire pull.

new app goes with the new bt adapter only. if you already have a jb4 with bluetooth, no need for the new one.

bit 1 on prevents FF from adapting (usually only on absolute maps)

duty bias are always active on all maps (except map 0)

I think the question has to do with the n54 procedures where the adaptive stuff was disabled (at least how I was reading it) during the tuning process and reenabled when done for a specific run. But we dont really do that on this platform - right?

we do but its more relevant for absolute maps
