Looks like there is a dealer flash update that is locking OBD programming.

Any ideas when they started this update?

I ask because I have an early built LE car that has been stuck in California port for over a month

Might be stuck along with many others due to the "quality inspection" holds because of loud seat motors deemed defective. From what I understand after inspections and if they passed with no noise they are getting to dealers and those that failed inspections are not leaving until parts show approx early to mid Sept

We recently picked up our second 2020 Supra and unlike our first, it did have an ECU Lock.

ECU Reflashes could not be used without having the software/tools to remove the ECU and do a bench flash first, which always risks bricking the ECU. However, a bench flash will resolve the issue of the ECU lock.

However, the Titan ProTune worked without issue being that it is a piggy back and not a reflash.

I may be good then. I'm sure titans piggyback is good. Just would rather have the data logging capabilities. What does Titan use for flashing ecu software. Bootmod 3?

Are you referring to flashing it after it is "bricked" from the ECU lock? This requires a bench flash that most do not have software for. However, there are existing B58 tuners out there that do have the capability to bench flash the ECU to remove the lock. Once we do more R&D then we will offer a flash service as well.

At this time we are catering to those that may not have access to this, or prefer the ability to switch between maps for no additional costs.

I wonder if all the rattle and squeeks in the car was an inspection item? For a 60k car, a lot of rattle inside

Don't forget horrible wind noise when the windows are down on the highway
Almost feel like they rushed it to finish the car. They must have tested the car in the wind tunnel. How did they not notice the unbearable wind noise in the cabin when the windows are down?? And they couldn't place a trunk button next to the rear view camera? I wonder if they would address any of the issues in the next refresh

Man, I'm gonna try this buffeting sound issue today. So many people are annoyed by it. I'm going to assume they designed the car with people like me behind the wheel, who don't put the windows down at highway speeds. I'm gonna try it on all my other cars. I'm willing to bet most will have this issue..

ps. the car is rushed for sure. Tada-san said they had to even delay a few things to make driving experience better, etc. but obviously few quirks exist. 1st year problems.

Yeah it's pretty terrible between 45-60mph which would be optimal windows down speed. I like to listen to the exhaust and turbo sounds so I ride with the windows down a lot of the time. I have gotten a little more used to it but it's pretty ridiculous that it's as loud as it is.
