I don’t know all of the variables or thinking behind the tuning, but this is lower than I expected for even 91 on the revised pure800 turbo, considering the original unrevised version claims 527whp on 93. Maybe there’s another element to it that I’m missing? They are just finishing up. Gained 145 whp. They said it drives fantastically. Hoping to pick up tomorrow. Remember, this is 91 octane, no meth, conservative tune for AZ heat, etc.![]()

Pure has added my dyno sheet to their website -- I think, for the "fun" tune file, I might as well go with the 600+ whp and simply add some race gas. Nice to know that's an easy option without changing any hardware. (I miss my old Greddy Profec in my 95 TT that had three levels of boost at the push of a button.)
COnsidering we made low 500s at the wheel on their original Pure Upgrade on 93oct. That should be about right on the new one.
bigger than that. I assume youre asking about that other upgrade offered from another company. Pure is larger by a great marginDo you know what size are the impellers in the Pure Turbos? 57mm 54mm?

I know the size of the Pure turbo. But its not my business to tell. We deal with Pure regularly. So they tell us things. But i can't tell as it their info they trusted me with. But i will say, the other option does NOT compare to the Pure Turbo.Yes I saw something but is not out yet... the size is something that they won’t tell?
Cool ThksI know the size of the Pure turbo. But its not my business to tell. We deal with Pure regularly. So they tell us things. But i can't tell as it their info they trusted me with. But i will say, the other option does NOT compare to the Pure Turbo.
it will depend on a few things.I looked around and did not find the info. My question is, with PureTurbo800 Ams downpipe and jb4 tune what am I looking at as far as power increase?
it will depend on a few things.
1.) what fuel will you run? Stock fuel system is good for about 700-750 from what I’ve seen.
93 Octane
2.) what other modifications do you have?
It will be just the Pure800 and AMS downpipe
3.) which tuning software will you use?
I was hoping to use JB4 piggback for warranty purposes.
the numbers for stock fuel system and normal Bpu mods with the pure 800 have ranged all the way between 485whp all the way to 672 with meth and ms109. I would say with a normal tune and 93 you will be about 550whp
As an ardent MHD fan, many many n54s with upgraded turbos or singles ran JB4-only successfully. Contact Terry of BMS who makes the JB4 units and he can likely steer you in his preferred direction to meet your needs. That's what's technically possible. I would highly advise getting a custom tune for the DME using any of the flasher tools available on the market, mhd, bootmod3, titan, etc. Additionally, it is not uncommon on heavily modded n54s to stack JB4 units ontop of back end flashes (BEF) with MHD underneath. Again, I'd reach out to a BMW tuner you can trust and Terry to steer you toward a good path.Im not sure if JB4 has the tuning capability to tune for a new turbo.
you say you are worried about warranty but are going to swap turbos, lol. Might as well go with a proper tuning solution if you are going far enough to swap turbos imho.
