Same argument can be made for the auto Jeep Wrangler for example. It is faster, easier to drive, more comfortable, and safer in trails than a manual version....however, they seem to be selling the manuals just fine with those cars. It’s not about speed, turbo cars can be built to triple digit numbers nowadays. It’s the driving experience that makes the difference. The 6spd MKIV’s were slower than the auto’s....and fast forward 20yrs later, everyone wants the 6spd’s. I’m not denying the speed and capability of exotics that run $70k auto drivetrains, most of those buyers either can barely walk with their own two legs let alone shift a gear in a manual....or they are not concerned about the experience of manually rowing through gears, but rather one hand on the wheel and the other in between their passengers legs, hehe.

All im saying, it will be a wise move on Toyota’s part to offer a manual in a very competitive segment coming soon.

Agreed 100% both would always be best.

I don't like shitty built American cars. Had nothing to do with what transmission it offers ;)
So you’re saying you have a preference even if it performs worse?

Hear me out, some people prefer a manual even if it performs worse

Yeah, some. That's why Chevy dropped the manual on the C8. Because only some bought it on the C7. That's why most auto makers only offer a manual on their lesser models, because only some buy it.
I love a manual. I'd happily drive a manual Supra too. But I also understand with all the costs involved, the lack of performance in both speed and MPG, that it doesn't make much sense anymore to offer one. Would I like it? Yes. Would I buy it? Probably not.

Sidenote: how much better would the current STI perform if it had a DCT? I've always said it should have had an option to. The next gen STI doesn't need 400 horsepower. It needs a DCT or the ZF auto. That will do much more for it. If Subaru doesn't offer one, they're batshit crazy. If they put in the WRX CVT, all hope is lost.

Yeah those are the real reasons manuals aren't offered, not because it is the 'top' car

I never said that's why they did it. Just said that none of their top models didn't have manuals. Which is true.

Which is correlation and not causation. That is equally as relevant as saying "they are longer than 170 inches so they don't have a manual"

Good, then we've established both correlation and causation.
