If You can, share impressions after track and especially if body roll is reduced with springs :)

Will track the car normally again end of August. But guess it will be hard to tell compared to OEM (not pushing the car to its limits).
Maybe my tuner can tell me more if there is difference compared to stock springs (he is also the one that drove it more to its limits).

I will provide an update if I have one :)

This morning... a few runs were done with the new custom turbo:
Clp4PVI.jpg

On 1.3 bar (19psi), the car is making 540-550hp on octane 93.
This to get a baseline compared to the standard turbo... that topped out at 520HP.

The custom turbo has a much smoother powerband. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it... but seen the graph via a whatsapp call.
As said, Custom Import Arts only took it for four runs. Let's hope they find time the next couple of days to tune it further.

Goal is turning the boost up to a maximum of 1.6bar (23psi) on octane 93.
This would still be in the safe area for the engine on the long term for daily drive and hot trackdays.
Very curious how it will turn out :)

I don't know how much boost other Supra's are running on octane 93 for long-term durability.
Maybe members here can share?

No real update on this. They took it for a couple of blocks, but did not really test if it helped in body roll.
But in the meantime... also ordered the Cusco swaybars for front and back.

Thats even better coz I wanted to do stiffer springs + bigger front sway for roll reduce instead changing whole suspension.
Looking forward even more then :D

Well I am curious as well regarding those anti-roll bars. :D
If reading in a couple of topics, it seems that they make a big difference in handling.

Is the 540-550hp to the wheels?
No not to the wheels and on 93 octane (98 ron)
Here in Europe we are in 99.99% of the cases never advertising HP to the wheels.
But if not mistaken, it is 13% taken into account as drivetrain loss.

I don't have the graphs yet as they are still tweaking the baseline: need to further tune the lower RPM range before turning up the boost.
Something to do with a reference point that apparently the ECU takes into account. Compared to the stock turbo, we are missing HP & torque in the lower range. First thing first, having a very good baseline over the entire RPM range.

Now that ECUTEK racerom is available, I will also be changing from MHD towards ECUTEK.
Interesting times :)

As it was a colder day today and more was learnt regarding the ECUTEK platform for the Supra... hitting currently the same HP number as with the standard turbo;
ZMbSSmN.jpg

But as you all can see, a much smoother and less agressibe curve, comapared to the standard one

Today was the last day for now to play with the upgraded turbo. Having really nice results when taking into account the following:
  • hot intake temperature & humidity of the air
  • ECU resticting the boost to 1.2bar from around 5700 RPM (turbo running 1.4 bar in the lower range)
  • 93 octane fuel (ron98)
  • downpipe only (still running on the default European ewhaust)

When there is again R&D time available, they will try to figure out in which ECUTEK parameter maps those boost restrictions for the higher RPM ranges are present.
Or does anybody know where to find it?

Racerom was also patched, but it appeared to be still buggy... after applying, also creating restrictions.
But overall for now.... really smooth power curves.

Will normally be taking the car back home this Saturday: my summer tires are planned to finally arrive on the 9th of July (waiting for them for 2 months now). So I am going to enjoy the car for a while in like 10-14 days. Updated pictures once the wheels are on... will definitely follow.

Great numbers especially for 93 MON (98 RON) pump gas.

Can't wait to see what it will put down once the ECUTEK mapping parameters are all figured out.

Nice to know that the 2nd iteration of the modified turbo is doing great.

All the best and stay safe.

Same here, will be really interesting I think to see those numbers :)

Yes, modified bolt-on turbo providing a much better powerband than the standard turbo... which was pushed to its limits.
Happy that indeed the 2nd version did the job.

Only running a downpipe and this turbo. So still on the standard European exhaust ;)

She is back home. And god damn that custom turbo delivers power so much smoother than the standard turbo. Linear power on the street, just awesome. This makes the car so alive and much better to drive and control.

Taken the traction control off made it on the standard turbo very tailhappy and unpredictable. But on this custom turbo... you know what the car will be doing. Thanks to that smooth power curve. On the highway, it pulls in whatever gear you are in.

Make no mistake, without traction control, the car fights for grip in every gear... but it is predicatble. With slight adjustments on the steering whel, you keep the car straight while the pedal is floored :D

I could go on and on... but its awesome. This should have been the turbo by default :p

The HKS springs did not make the ride much harder. Just a little, but still very daily driveable.
Next up: wheels and summer tires (yes tested on winter tires). Once the transmission code is cracked, Custom Import Arts can really start tuning this car as it should... without tricking the transmission by providing it false information.
