You quoted a post nearing 2 months old, so you could complain that someone liked the change in clutch feel after removing the restrictors in the CDV?

You've acknowledged that it can change how it feels, so why is it you can't ever turn down an opportunity to comment when someone notices or likes that change in feel? Why is this now the placebo effect (note the correct spelling) when you have very specifically stated that you believe it will change the feel?

These are rhetorical questions you don't need to answer. There's a lot of knowledge you have that's worth sharing, I've read some good things from you. But this subject you can't stop contradicting yourself on or being a pain in the ass about for no reason. It's kind of odd.
What can I say I like history. Let me clarify. The clutch action may "feel" different but the shift action which I was specifically commenting on (maybe I wasn't clear enough) will not change, thats in the head. Affect or Effect, depends on the use. Verb or Noun.
At least you loured razorlab out of his hole. Always worth it.

You need some new material razor. This is what happens when you turn 50 old fella you keep repeating yourself. Are you there yet? 50 I mean. If not it must be fairly soon. The repetative posts are just the first sign. I'm familiar, lol.

Like a Siren... old man. Do you know what a Siren is, or do you also not read books?

I def don't need new material. You are literally the old man that yells at clouds in almost every single post you make. Everyone sees it but you. I know the "I meant to do that" is your fallback but we all see right through it.

I knew the misspelling would get your attention, lol. Have we turned 50 yet?

Lol, exactly my point. "I meant to do that".
But are you 50 yet? After 50 you can start with the "get off my lawn" and then work your way up to "yelling at clouds". Come on you know you want to 😂

Thank you. I read the message yesterday and had to smile at first, and I wondered whether I should even reply at all.

I don’t understand this “placebo” knock-down argument, and how can a feeling not be positive or negative? If I hadn’t felt any change without the CDV, I would have written that just as well as if it had felt worse without the CDV; in that case I would have put the CDV back in.

So all I can do is, once again, encourage all drivers with a manual transmission to remove the CDV. Unless you have wooden limbs, you will feel a difference. Whether that difference feels better or worse is something everyone has to decide for themselves. For me it was worth it, because I can now shift more smoothly/with more feel from 1st to 2nd. Even so, it still isn’t perfect, as I already mentioned.

That oddly reminds me of a good buddy of mine who once told me: “Go to Restaurant B — you can get the same dishes there for less than at Restaurant A. It tastes just as good.”

But when I actually ate there, I realized all the sauces were convenience/ready-made, the salad bar was noticeably worse and not as fresh, and the dishes in general just weren’t prepared to the same standard. I guess some people simply don’t feel, taste, or even see the difference? Doesn’t matter to me. I judge what I experience.

Let us know how it goes with this limp mode issue as with the full bench unlock option available, an actual tune is what I want now

To keep this thread on track for anyone else that is inevitably going to encounter this issue:

1. MHD OTS Tunes were made on the ZF Auto Cars. Not for the MT cars.
2. OTS tunes cause excessive boost spikes between shifts that triggers limp mode. Some see notification that limp mode has been activated. I personally did not but could feel and watch the ECU target and only boost 8 psi. My limp mode conditions varied and would sometimes bounce in and out of limp mode several times in one drive cycle without shutting thr car off. Other times my car would stay in limp mode even after shutting the car off and letting it sit for some time.
3. Custom tuning can tune the boost spikes down between shifting. This makes a huge difference in how the car drives. Makes it feel like how you'd expect a manual transmission to drive and subsequently will prevent Limp Mode from triggering.
4. I used @CD919 for my tuning and am happy with my experience working with him. If you go with someone else, it's worth discussing this prior to set the expectations.
5. CDVs are trash, make the driving experience worse and are a bandaid for people who do not know how to properly drive a manual transmission. Now stay on topic and stop derailing this thread 🙂

MT also has clutch slip monitoring (8388608 torque limit code) that is much different than AT and won't allow the car to go over 650nm. From the OTS logs I have seen so far, the current OTS maps do not manage this.

Do you have an aftermarket dp? Catted or catless?
Catless

Yep, mine is completely limited to 650nm, doesn't hit full boost till 5k
