Just before the Titan deep sea submarine imploded, killing all occupants, it was likely that the inexperienced passengers asked if the pinging noise they heard was anything to be concerned about. The owner, who had years of experience probably replied, "Don't worry; I've heard this many times before."

Just because an issue is due to one component some of the time doesn't necessarily mean it is the a cause, all of the time.
The leakage may still be due to a shaft seal. So don't count your chickens before they hatch!
That's all good and dandy. But has the dealer provided any solution that contradicts what has been said here or shows what the problem is? No.

How long has your car been at the dealer?

Yes, the dealership's tech said that a shaft seal is leaking, which does contradict some members here who say that it is an overfill condition. Someone mentioned that if the level drops below a certain height, a warning light will show up, but that was one person. No One else pointed this out.

It's been a bit over one month at the dealership.

Not a Corvette.

There is no fill level sensor. Only a temp sensor. The temp sensor will throw an error from a certain temp, which an underfilled diff might do.

The photos you shared from the tech are of the axles, not the drive shaft.

Since the dealership has not completed the work, I have no paperwork that specifies the exact differential seal in question.

It does qualify but I already spent thousands of dollars on PPF. I sure hope it turns out okay.
Now you know. That was the point of the thread right? Get your keys back as soon as possible and go to a shop that has real mechanics that do more than oil changes/ tire rotations for the bulk of their business. You’ll actually get it “fixed”, be able to drive it enjoying that ppf you paid for.

...and potentially spend thousands for a repair that would've been done, free of charge. I was willing to wait awhile to save money, but after a month, my patience has diminished quite a bit. My days of not worrying about money while working full-time are long gone.
Never would think that repair expenses would be a concern while a new $70k car is under warranty.

Everyone, 13 pages in and he's not going to listen to any advice here. So let him be, maybe he'll have the car by spring.

Triple check it before you leave that dealer lot - scratches, wear inside, etc...

The good news is that you have it documented for future concern.

When I was there, last week, I saw that there were three Supras in the parking garage with my car in between the other two. But yes, I will look it over, thoroughly.
Thanks.
