Hey people! Just wanted to create a thread to see if there are other very highly modified Supras with a ton of miles as well as discussing my ownership more in-depth compared to my video. 4 years with my car now and 87.7K miles on the odometer as of the writing of this post. Definitely my favorite car that I've ever owned. Had an FK8 Type R before this and I've had multiple STis (I need a doctor), WRX, Outback, S2000, and others I'm forgetting. The MK5 checks a majority of the boxes for a car I was looking for back then and still checks the boxes to this day.
Not sure what you guys were cross shopping the Supra with, but I got mine on November 2020 and this was before the prices for cars in general shot up. I crossed shopped the Supra with the cars below and I'll list the reason why I marked that car off my list:
Some of you might disagree with my points above, but those are my reasons. Looking back at my decision back then, I definitely made the right choice. I was actually trying to buy a white launch edition in OKC before I got mine, but one of the local dealerships would not sell it to me without some stupid $15k markup (looking at you Bob Howard Toyota). I knew that I was being "that customer" by saying I would buy the car if they just took the markup off, but I meant it. Oh well, I made a better decision with buying this particular car that I now own. Ended up finding it on Facebook Marketplace and I still keep in touch with the previous owner!
Bought the car with 62xx miles. Told the previous owner, James, that I would drive the FUCK out of the car and put it on YouTube and that's exactly what I did. I am one example and this car has been amazing for me not just driving it, but meeting all the fine folks in the community around the world. Ownership has not been perfect though, but all of the issues that I've had has been related to something that I have modified on the car.
The bad:
All in all, very minor stuff and iAutowork and Applied Torque Solutions local to me got me sorted out and back on the road. Car still whoops ass and will continue getting driven all over the US and the world (hopefully). Here's my video that will go live this coming Friday (12/6/24) and some pictures from the early days of my ownership and what it looks like now.

- Audi RS3: Love the DAZA platform, but couldn't get over how pedestrian the car looks. I knew I would modify the car and I wanted to add a big wing to it and a wing just looks goofy on it.
- Nissan R35 GTR: One of my buddies ended up getting the exact spec I was hunting for and I did not want to copy him. White 2015 FBO E85 Black Edition. The dated interior was also a turn off for me
- Corvette C7 Z06 (MT and AT): Drove both drivetrains and really liked them. Loved the supercharger whine and the ability to take the top off. Marked it off the list because I did not want to hang out with a bunch of old dudes with New Balances.
- Audi R8 (V8): Not mod friendly. A freaking turbo kit to just push 600-700whp was going to cost up to $40K+.
- BMW F80 M3: I love how they look and love how practical they are. Turn off for me was the sound of the car with a catless system.

The bad:
- Broke axles twice (once at the track and once because the hub/axle bolt snapped)
- Top mount boost issues related to me not plumbing the vacuum lines properly from the boost controller to the wastegate
- One of the solenoids failed on my transmission (stock, unrelated to the built trans)
- Misfiring because I did not swap out the sparkplugs (back when I had my Pure 800 setup)
- Fuel line got loose for the secondary LPFP (original system I had put in was a stop gap just to get my car tuned)
- Stupid ass brake wear sensor
