A91 & Recent 2021 Impossible to Tune / ECU manufactured after 2020/6 is locked? [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Do we know the exact cutoff date for locking purposes? I am a 6/27/20 date per my ECU and have assumed I am SOL but figure I would confirm with the braintrust.

Most people aren't willing to ship their ECU's to Russia. I know of about 3 people that have gone through the very expensive process and it does work. ($3,300 + your tune). Figure $5k or so.

2) RKTunes ships your ECU to Femto
3) I was referring to actually tune -not one-off OTS bullshit tunes that no one wants.

I was more referring to the entire package of the ability to tune your car. Which is possible, risky, and expensive - but can be done.

if you poke around the G20 andG8x board on bimmerpost, there is some discussion of Femtoand whatever Mission Tuning is doing. Nothing really conclusive or earth shattering as far as I can tell.

Once they unlock anyone can tune. I saw RK tuning a G80. I also saw Wrench Studios in UK get unlocked by femto and tuning with BM3 so shit’s already under way.

No one is doing an OBD unlock. You can flash, but you cannot unlock.

I don't think that's completely accurate. I don't believe RKTunes is offering the unlock, but I do think there are others out there that are. I've seen several posts on other sites with tuners offering that. I don't have any specifics, but I think a few google searches may reveal who is offering that option. However, from what I recall, it was not cheap, $5k+ to get it done.

It could be a matter of parlance, but there isn't an OBD unlock that's readily available. There is a crazy dance you can do to get to one, but RKTunes can sign the files and flash, they cannot unlock. If they could unlock, then you can Ecutek tune, and we'd be done. You have to use their tool, because it understands how to generate the key-signature required. Which is different that unlocking.
