Spool injectors generally lack data and are a PIA to deal with. This set comes with a full set of data.
Even with data though, DI upgrades just aren’t worth it for the money. A reflex with a good harness and proper tuning is always gonna be the better option.

no argument there. My personal preference is having a fully upgraded DI system. But it’s more expensive with a lower ceiling.

arguably more reliable though with less points of failure

Not a Corvette.

I am normally pro DI but yea, those +60% injectors plus a HPFP is over $4,000. At that point just do PI.

I wouldn’t have done it either if I was paying msrp. $2700 for fx400x + ifx350 was enough to convince me. The lpfp for an additional $900 is enough to take the stock engine to its limit for a total of $3,600.

Agreed. I have spools fx350 too. I don’t love it. It’s already maxed out on like e50 for me.

Ultimately deciding to go port. The upgrades are cool, but that price….

I went the DI route myself with the Dorch DS25, S58 injectors, and, for some reason, decided to throw in a PRW Stage 2 LPFP. Running my Omega65 on E50 and meth, I managed to hit 5.3s 100-200km/h, which I find pretty impressive - right on the edge of what I believe the engine and transmission can handle.

The challenge now is that my S58 injectors are completely maxed out, and without bigger injectors, gaining more power is going to be tough.

No doubt, the DI upgrades came at a hefty price, but as expected, I’m already itching for more. The only immediate way forward now is port injection. I bit the bullet and ordered everything, including a transmission upgrade, so I should have more than enough fueling capacity for my stock engine - probably more than I’ll ever need, lol.

If I had to do it all over again purely to save money, port injection would definitely be the logical choice - it’s the best bang for your buck. That said, I do think DI upgrades are improving, and while I don’t see them surpassing the potential of port in the near future, they do bring some solid PnP benefits, which is always a plus for Supra owners looking for a simpler setup.

I stuck with DI as well with Dorch HPFP and S58 injectors. Stock LPFP on E50. Slowly increased boost but haven't dyno'd it yet. At 28 psi is feels very quick and was making enough power to slip the trans in 4th 5th 6th. Built transmission now on the way and will probably lower boost slightly to keep heat down as I use it for lapping and time attack. More money than PI but my philosophy for track is to keep this as simple as possible-less to go wrong

I'm guessing this thread just convinced everyone at this point to just go PI. Well unless another company has the time and money to R&D new injectors that flow way more than stock say 70%+ish? but it's still probably gonna be more expensive than PI. Yeah Pi is kind of a pain in the ass to deal with sometimes, but you can't have all of it beggars can't be choosers.

Depends on the goals , for tracking a lot of people use PI I was seeing the limits of DI which we found now if companies want to develop better parts make it easier that’s sick . Now I will install cams and see how much more I can push the DI but yes for most people PI might be easier / cheaper . I just don’t like the idea of PI

IIRC your primary problem with DI was Spool. No data products make it very difficult to tune.

Nostrum is much better
