A dealer here in Alabama is asking $74k for CU Later Gray A91 MT, but they will not sell to anyone that does not have an Alabama zip code. Rumor has it, there have been multiple people from other states attempting to actually buy it for $74k. That is insane to me. With that being said, it does appear to have that "carbon fiber wheel package" installed. What do you guys think?

EDIT: After looking at the installed options on the car, this price isn't too far off of MSRP. However, $12k of that is the carbon wheel option.

I literally donā€™t understand why they would care if someone out of state bought it. Money is money. Paperwork or some shit?

That bit of my post is somewhat here-say, but that information did come from someone that works at that dealership. Honestly, asking him why is a good idea.

I remember one dealer telling me it's because if you are local, you are more likely to come to them for servicing which equals more profit. They also mentioned that Toyota sees where they're selling cars to and they may not be eligible for more units if they keep selling outside their region. Not sure if there is any truth to that though

Carbon wheels while sick, are not worth 12k in my eyes

I can confirm: dealerships prefer to sell local because it needs customer/dealer loyalty and added revenue with servicing, etc. To the point where the dealership I bought my car from sells MSRP to locals and mark ups to out of towners.

I find it hilarious you all are crapping on the look of those wheels, but if they where Titan 7 TS-5, which look 98% the same, you would be like "dat shiz fire".

From the manufacturer = NOPE
Pimped on social media for years = YES

Supra owners are funny.

Kinda odd to complain about the markup and give them free advertising.

They know they will sell everything in their inventory at whatever price they set.

The OP didn't state markup. It's MSRP. I even posted the window sticker.

Its a better deal than what a Nissan dealership was selling the new Nissan Z Proto for.. +$120K. TJ Hunt end up buying it for $81K.
