I want to hear about incidents where the cheap Walmart oil destroyed a Supra engine.

All these arguments about you’re not using the proper recommended oil because its not certified by xxxxx to standard xxxxx.

I’ve been running Liqui Moly 5w-30 since 1200 miles and my Black Stone reports say the same as anyone else using their own oil preference . Everything is good and no signs of wear.

We argue over oil because we like to argue about cars.

You: "Wahhh, why does he keep saying I am dumb for bringing up old non relevant things"

Also you: "Here is a character from a TV show that aired 21 years ago"

Also you: "Why do people say I derail threads, here is a character from a TV show that aired 21 years ago"

There’s a point where you say okay I get it, you answered my question. And in your mind you think his answer isn’t going to change & mine isn’t either. And… it’s your thread, so I’m done with it.

Kinda like that show House where no one listens to the main character’s advice (Bryan) and the patient (you) keeps coming back with the same problem. Guess that’s why you picked that reference ;) All in good fun Dave. But definitely worth moving on

Ah, but here's the key difference. I don't have a problem with the factory oil. Some people lose their politeness when anyone disagrees with them. I've provided plenty of counter arguments that show the that the specified oil is just fine for typical street use.
Guys who regularly race insist that higher viscosity is best for every owner.
In the series, House, every doctor, at one time or another, thinks of something that House never did, often because his personality and stubbornness got in the way.
I mentioned a few times that I plan to have my oil tested. Somehow, I think that even consistently good reports will not change many minds in this forum.....I'll report them, anyway/either way.

I literally have never said that. Now. PLEASE stop being a Boomer Blob (tm) and mucking threads up.

There is a list of all approved/recommended oils on the first page. Printed in black and white, including your precious 0w20. Including my precious 5w40. I'm sure there is a 0w30 in there that is also precious to someone else.

Stop constantly digging in and saying stupid shit. Stop being a Boomer Blob (tm). Nobody likes a Boomer Blob (tm).

So according to you, because your list does not include the factory Toyota GR oil and Liqui Moly Longlife, then you insinuate that owners MUST switch to any of those shown on your tables.
THAT's the basis of my arguments.

Your quote:

This literally means that the GR oil and Liqui Moly oils are NOT approved, according to you. Get it?

I believe we need BMW certified oil for the possibility of increased timing chain wear (if anyone here is actually going to drive/keep their Supra for over 125k miles, timing chain needs a special BMW tool or an engine out service for the B58). Cheap oil won't kill your engine as long as you're replacing it every give or take 3,000 miles or 5,000 (synthetic).

@concept is the older brother that has to find a way to twist words to sound like he is always right.
@razorlab is the younger brother that is right, but you hate to agree with him because he's the younger annoying brother.

Both of you guys are right in your own way and how you guys use your cars. The list of approved oils is always subject to additions and subtractions, that should be a given as oil companies are always needing to update and recertify their oils to meet OEMs' periodically updating their oil certifications.

Right, I don't think there's any reason not to use a bmw LL01 or LL04 certified oil if you're going to a thicker grade since there's so many options.
