By bigger, it looks like you mean a bigger rim (using wheel = tire + rim), and wider refers to a wider tire?Would going bigger and WIDER be advised? Thinking of going 20" 275/295 setup for the front and rear 10" wide in the front and 11" in the rear. Still on the fence if I buy the wider wheels if I should step up to a 285/305
Thanks for your input
I've heard people say that 275/35/19 can rub a bit in the front. Based on that, 285 should probably rub, and since tires for 20" rims will be bigger overall than the equivalent tire for a 19" rim, they'll probably also rub if you go 285.
I really don't know about 305s on 20" wheels. Maybe, maybe not? It's cutting it close.
Edit: lots of things to consider -- hopefully this article explains better than I can: https://carphrases.com/pros-and-cons-of-using-bigger-wheels-on-a-car/
Also, what's your aim with the car? Tracking, shows, daily, drag racing, something else? Your answer will change how you should approach "what wheels should I get?"
