Saw the release of the Dinan PCU for the S58, will there be a version for the B58? Is it equivalent to JB4?

Unfortunately no update yet. I still haven't cleared the amber flashing parking brake light issue. Dealer said their equipment needed an upgrade and they couldn't troubleshoot. Going to another dealer next month. The weather has been too bad to do anything with the car. Once it's clear I'll post an update. Hopefully before the NASA season is in full swing.@CobraCommander or anyone, any updates on the Supra MT equipped with Dinantronics X? Very interested in trying it out. Appreciate your feedback!!

I don't think it will matter much but here are my bolt on mods before I get into initial reactions:
-HKS HI-POWER Catback Exhaust
-HKS Dry Carbon Racing Suction Cold Air Intake
-Active Autowerke Supra B58 Catted Downpipe
-HKS SSQV IV Kit (Always off unless I want to make cool sounds. I'm recirculation 98% of the time)
Install:
Probably the easiest install next to wind buffering insert.
I put the control model in the compartment with the master cylinder. You can adhere it to the side wall using the supplied velcro tape and route the cables under the trim. Just follow the instructions exactly. Took maybe 30mins because you have to wait atlest 10min for the electrical components to turn off after you lock the car.
Removal for service will be super easy.
Connecting the app to your phone and registering the module is all done with the QR Codes in the instructions and on the back of the module. (I recommend atleast copying the serial number down before you adhere the module using the supplied velcro tape.)
The app is simple Race, Sport, Eco. Preset to map 6, 5, 3. Just touch the option and the map changes. You can change the map settings for each mode to whatever you want. (This does not change your Sport and Normal selection)

I started in the default map 5 and let the engine warm up, drove a few miles to warm up the tires, and found a safe place to get a few spirited runs in.
In both normal and sport, there is a significant change in throttle response. The most notable change though is the torque followed by the continous pull throughout the power band.
Off the line with TCS on I needed to adjust my throttle input to limit wheel spin. In the stock setup there was not significant activation of the TCS. The car is manual so I feel I have alot more control of how this system responds. TCS off and right pedal control manages wheel slip and the added hp and torque make this feel far more engaging. It will take some practice to perfect launching both with TCS on and Off.
From a roll in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd the pull feel throughout the powerband is glorious. The restricted feeling previously felt far less apparent. (Maybe it's just me, but the car used to feel like there was more to give until 3rd gear).
I have not tested the feel from the drop. I need to find a better area to go faster safely.
Map 5 to 7:
(I tested Map 3 and it feels like what you expect. Increased responsiveness and smooth power deliver)
The difference from 5, 6, 7 are felt aggressively, in a good way (this probably further amplified by the exhaust noise). The acceleration through each gear is constant and the added torque increases the speed out of corners significantly. Map 7 provided the greatest results but I don't think I'd drive around like that at normal highway cruising speeds. It's just not necessary because map 5 provides such satisfying results.
Issues:
None so far, this is how the car should feel from the factory. The power deliver feels safe. I don't feel like there is any additional stress on the engine. There were no strange noises. There were no odd responses in the throttle. Just in improved driving experience.
Bottomline, the maps provide a change in performance that is worth the price tag.
I track the car and I can tell it's going to make for an amazing experience for my next track weekend.
I don't know how this feels in an Automatic but I'm sure the reviews should be the same. If I had to guess, the improvements are better felt in the MT because the experience is overall more engaging. That could be psychological.
If you are thinking of getting upgrade, I can't find a reason not to. I'm not interested in tinkering with fuel mixtures or loading custom tunes; this system works for my build and I think it's more than enough for track days, time attack, and the occasional highway enemy battle.

1. Instructions show a BMW engine bay but the Supra bay and connector locations are basically identical. The controller (head unit) of the X is probably most easily mounted in that crevasse above and to the right of the ECU cover. Also closer to the driver in that location so the BT signal is a bit better. I would always recommend routing the harness first and from there seeing how much harness is left and making your decision if you want it elsewhere with that remaining run length in mind.@Dinan_Engineering - I have this product and I'm planning to install this on my 24 MT. I have a few questions:
1. Looking the instructions (which I think shows a different BMW vehicle, non-Supra), where does Dinan recommend the install of the module and routing of the harness? (maybe I can't see it clearly in the instructions)
2. Please confirm the procedure before I unplug the OEM harness from the sensors, if the car is unlocked (with the hood open) and been sitting for and hour, can I just go ahead and unplug the harness and start, or do i have to lock and let it sit for 10+ mins before I unplug the OEM harness from the sensors?
3. in California, can Irun map 5 or best to be safe and just run map 3? (i want the added performance but with reliability)

2. Car needs to be powered down (completely off) before removing sensors. Typically just having the keyfob out of range for about 15 minutes will do the trick and the car will completely shut down. That said, even if was partially powered and you began to unplug things its not going to cause any damage. You will just have a few codes you will need to clear when you restart the car which you can do with any over the counter scanner.
3. Not the answer you will want to hear but I would start at map 3 and then work your way up. California summer blend 91 typically starts being used at the pumps in April/May and it is not your friend. With non-summer blend you can go up to map 5 without any issues but I as noted previously I would start with map 3, monitor driving behavior, and if everything goes smooth, go up to the next level and then monitor again -- rinse, repeat. During the summer months you will likely be capped at map 3/4 though for the smoothest experience.
I mounted mine in the little compartment in the top right corner under the hood by the drivers side windshield. Super easy@Dinan_Engineering
