Hello folks,

I am putting together a new build thread for my V2 time attack and track focused build to track progress and get helpful tips/pointers

I started tracking the car last season (our seasons here in Dubai are in the winters) and I really did enjoy the heck out of it. So I did more of it and have decided to go all in, improve my driving and the car with the hopes of setting a competitive time in our local time attack leagues.

Going to be meticulous in my detail. Latest state of the car:

Power:
  • Pump gas: ~500whp
  • E30: ~600whp
  • Turbo: DAW UltraFlowX
  • Downpipe: DAW 5” catless
  • Exhaust: Custom 3.5” stainless steel with small resonator
  • Intake: MST V3
  • Tuner: Sameh Yehia
  • Platform: BM3
Engine:
  • Oil: Rowe 5w40
  • Plugs: NGK. Stock gap
Cooling:
  • Manifold: Wagner Tuning
Suspension:
  • Ohlins road and track coilovers
    • Front: 5 clicks
    • Rear: 5 clicks
  • Cusco sway bar front and rear
  • SPL rear toe links
  • SPL front LCA
  • SPL front end links
  • SPL rear end links
  • Suspension secrets front camber plates
Wheels:
  • Apex SM10 18x11 +40 Square
Tyres:
  • Nanking CRS 295/35r18 square
Brakes:
  • Pads: Endless MX72
  • Rotors: Stock
  • Fluid: Rowe DOT 4
  • EBC high performance brake lines
Alignment:
  • Front
    • Weight: 780.9kg
    • Camber: -3.75
    • Toe: +0.2°
    • Ride height: 345mm
  • Rear
    • Weight: 755.0kg
    • Camber: -2.45
    • Toe: +0.2°
    • Ride height: 350mm
Cosmetics:
  • Triple Seven quick release wheel
  • Iilumo interior lighting kit
  • Rexpeed v3 fourth brake light with flashing part wires cut
Misc:
  • Verus turbo heat shield
  • Verus brake master cylinder brace
  • Verus AOS
  • Red Tiger dash cam
  • AMS wind deflector
My latest best times:
Dubai Autodrome (home track):
  • Club layout: 1:15:09
  • International layout: 1:58:23 (video)
  • National layout: 1:43:67
These times are nowhere near competitive but hoping to improve with more seat time 💪

And huge shoutout to @TBK for all the help as I navigate this sport.

Also, some aero goodies coming in the next month. Can’t wait!

Bunch of Verus parts arrived as well as hood vent from @rwense

Going to get installed in early January with the rest of the aero

Also replacing the rubber spacers on the Ohlins in an attempt to solve grinding noise from the springs.

Small updates before track day today:
  • Removed roll cage (-20kgs)
  • Re aligned the car
    • Changed toe: mainly to combat breaking and high speed instability. Might go down to 0.1° or 0° depending on how today goes
      • F: -0.2° -> +0.2°
      • R: +0.4° -> +0.2°

You have toe IN not OUT in the rear right?

Yeah I'm sure his rear is toe in. But I think the changes he's made there work opposite to what he's trying to achieve.

@a90.faz if you went from +0.4 to +0.2 toe in the rear, you're getting less stability not more, in favor of more rotation. More rear end wiggling under braking, not less.

I like +0.2 on the rear, that's what I run as well, but I think you got there for the wrong reasons.

That said, let's hear how your track day went last evening with these settings.

I would have kept the toe out at the front for track driving.
