Can’t wait for new stock S650 owners to run into modded Supras. I don’t see a lot of stock supras entertaining races, it there’s no shortage of stock mustang drivers trying to get a run in.
I went against a FBO Mach 1 from 50-130. It was just sad. I put a good 5-6 cars on him, twice.

I will always respect Mustangs performance-wise, but I ain’t never seen anyone look at a Mustang the way people look at my Supra. Literally stops people in their tracks, even 3 years into production.

Plus after I unlock, I’m gonna guess they’re gonna need a little more than FBO to keep up anyway.

On paper it looks like it will be very quick. Very different design philosophy compared to the Z: Ford went for performance whereas Nissan went for comfort and budget. But I guess given the volumes the Mustang sells, there is more opportunity for Ford to do more niche track-focused models like this.

But yeah, I would be worried stealerships will mark the Dark Horse up to hell.

I saw this very image earlier today at the Detroit auto show. They had one supra there (22 Phantom grey w/red interior), and I had to wait for about 3 groups of people before I could sit in it. The whole time people taking pictures in and around the car and fawning all over it. Afterwards I walked right up and sat in a GT500 and a Mach 1 without a wait. There were quite a bit of people looking at the S650, but I actually heard a lot of people making nit-picks as it spun around on the turntable. I feel like around Detroit mustangs are more common than Honda civics lol

Not just Detroit bro. They’re a dime a dozen everywhere I’ve been. Great cars, but absolutely no wow factor. Pretty sure my Golf R got more attention lmao.

I mean the stereotypes about Mustangs being rental cars isn't unjustified lol. IMO to non-car-people's eyes, the new Mustang is just another Mustang, at this point a rather common car full of all sorts of negative stigmas and being associated with people who can't drive properly.

Yeah, this is a big way. I respect the performance in trained hands but seeing a current or recent gen mustang is like seeing street lights. I have a strong suspicion that a FBO Supra will quite handedly smash a FBO Dark Horse in a line and on a track. As long as Pure 800 is considered a bolt on haha.

There's a guy on YouTube with a twin turbo Mach 1. The car is extremely fast, even as a 6-speed car. I believe he dynoed 900+ to the wheels. Car is basically stock other than the turbo kit.

Mustangs/Corvettes/Camaros/Challengers are everywhere in Little Rock. The Supra turns heads, that's for sure

I stand corrected, I guess. I just checked Car and Driver's Lightning Lap times as well...

https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a23319884/lightning-lap-times-historical-data/

Still, I want both. Don't think I'll get approval from the bank of wifey, however :)
Here we go. Motor Trend (I believe) has the Dark Horse on the cover. My wife being a former owner and Mustang lover thinks she’s got to have one… I’m explaining how it would make sense to own two Supras and have extra track parts, experience from my mistakes, etc. I haven’t even looked at the article yet because I know I’m right 🙃
