It's going to depend on total production numbers. I kept waiting for the 4C to plummet because of dismal sales, and now they are up from their bottom with no signs of ever going down. Missed that ship, now I have a Supra. Time will tell.

The car is here until 2025/2026 - and with supply chain shortages I'm sure that they are limited on how many they can produce, etc....maybe will be like the Nissan GTR was - started as a 60k car and eventually turned into a 120k msrp car, and you will not be able to find them stock if you get a used one.

Edmunds and Caredge both have depreciation calculators, the depreciation curve on Edmunds is more steep. Fun to think about, but not rare enough to be an "investment car". Only really matters for the collectors or the flippers. Drive it, enjoy it, and live in the present otherwise.

When the GR Supras first came out in 2019, it wasn’t difficult to find dealers discounting these cars for $5,000 or more. With the recent shortage, best prices are going to be sticker price. The high volume Toyota dealers receive about one Supra per month and it’s usually pre-sold.

Once the market normalizes again, do you think GR Supra resale values will drop back to 2019 depreciation curves? These cars never really held that value that well. The shortage just made them appear more valuable.

The Supra is expected to end production in 2025 and last month Toyota sold a whopping 85 Supras… Total GR Supra production in the US will amount to 25-30k units which is what Ford sells of the Mustang in two months. Eventually the Supra will raise in value just like the previous generations. For now its resale value doesn’t hold up great but I’m sure this will change as it did for all the previous Supras.

There are and will be a very limited supply of powerful all gas 2 door sports cars that not just do the part also look the part which are offered with a manual and is no Porsche price.

You have nothing to worry about as far as resale unless you are trying to get in, play around a year and get out in which case just the tax will put you in the hole let alone the resale value.

It's hard to predict the future value of cars.

The 2020 Supra wasn't that attractive to buyers because it only had 335hp, an automatic, controversial styling, and was criticized for being a BMW and really expensive. The expensive point in particular hit these hard, because GM pinky promised that the C8 Corvette would be $63k and C7s could be had for $50k new, decently equipped with 460HP.

After four years have passed, the Supra gets a 50HP power bump, a manual option, the suspension is sorted (it's no longer slower than the CTR in the Lightning Lap), and most importantly, the entire sporty car segment has seen prices explode. Supra went from being slightly more expensive than a cheap Corvette, to being five figures cheaper than a mid-spec Mustang (and half the price of a Shelby).

I think our resale values are great, but only due to the covid market. Look up any BMW before covid market hit and a 4-year-old 50-60k BMW would have depreciated 15-20k. My 2020 was built 7/19 and carvana and KBB still offering 43-45k and I've had offers at 55k locally for it the way it sits, which is what I paid for it 2 years ago. So if it wasn't for the covid market these cars could be sitting around what my 53kmsrp 2018 Mustang was going for at 3 years old right before covid, 27k. With covid I sold that for more then I bought it for at 41k, this market has been great for sellers.

$52k integras , $54K "new" Z with Nissan Titan auto transmission and a $60k mustang will keep the Supra value high

all cars are at least 10% to over 20% overvalued. I feel the Supra is about 10% overvalued. I don’t see Supra going down too much in value before bottoming out and hold. The cheapest price likely will come this winter. High interest, student loans, high rent, high insurances, higher cost of living, Christmas, people trading down for lower payments will come together this winter.
I put a down for a manual edition 3 months ago, if luck I’ll have a blue with brown interior In 2025. Until than I’m on a hunt for a decent used one.

I think the market is starting to cool down a bit. Plus there are some fear of a recession occuring in late 2023 or early 2024.

Keep it for 10 years, don't worry about the resale $$$ at the end?
