Just my opinion... PPF seems to magnify imperfections from my experience. I had rock chips on one of my cars that I had PPF'd and it stuck out like a sore thumb. TBH, i would bring it back and ask them to look at it again to see if those imperfections can be wet sanded out.
~ I agree any dust in the paint, fish eyes and prior rock chips that were not filled will only be enhanced with clear bra over the flawed surface.

In a slight, and very slight defense to the body shop… it is not easy task repainting an existing bumper with multiple rock chips.

Any quality body shop should have removed the bumper, along with the black bits, to be prepped and painted correctly.

Take it back for the needed repairs.

Just for everyone's sake, do you know what brand paint they're using? If it matched perfectly, would be nice to know.

My take: One imperfection, and MAYBE two if it were in a tough spot to see, I could live with but these are very noticeable in my opinion and there’s too many. I would take it back and have them fix their work.

Again, if it were me, I would also be printing out this whole thread when I go back. Most, if not all, replies seem to agree it was a pretty poor job. I don’t think they’d want to be known for leaving their work like this.

This is mediocre work at best, paint match looks good, but with such a new car and OEM PPG paint it should be... those imperfections are not minor, one or two of those, even 3 is maybe something you can say F it, is what it is, but you paid more than top dollar for this job... 1100 is a lot for just a respray even with todays crazy prices... $8-$900 is more reasonable for a high end job... I would not accept this level of work for anything over $5-$600 max take it back and request it be done properly or if you paid on card I would open a dispute.
I got three estimates and they all were in the $1000 -$1700 range. Obviously none of them had seen each other’s estimates so I think there’s a reason they were all so close in price. I don’t know where I would find one for $800-$900…

where you live are the estimates that good?

For $1100, this is a god awful job. It shouldn't have any imperfections like you see for that much. Hopefully, you can get reimbursed or they should fix it.

That is some of the worst paint I’ve ever seen. I could do better in my garage with a harbor freight gun and an eye patch on.

That whole bumper needs to be stripped and re done, properly with all of the black trim removed. I would be furious if I got handed this piece of garbage.

It's not so much about the price itself, but the quality you got for the price. I'd be okay paying $1000+ if the bumper and rest of car came back perfectly.. What you got is very similar to a $150 whole sale paint job. Most regular folks would be okay with it on their used Camry's and Accords.. Malibu's and such.

Different location and state, but I recently had a Classic Collision repaint my front bumper and install/paint brand new side skirts, rear bumper, diffuser and trunk. Everything turned out flawless and they definitely removed the front bumper before prepping and respraying it.

I would take it back, show them the imperfections and tell them that they need to fix it. If they aren't willing to help try taking it up with whoever the regional director for that shop is.

Agreed. That's an insane price for the poor quality

I had bad experience with both Toyota and independently owned body shops. My advise to everyone is take a good look at your car before you leave the shop and even before you give them a damn cent.

Like all the others have said here, take it back and get it fixed the right way. Please don't take offesnse to this but that looks like a paint job from an old Earl Scheib's or MAACO shop. The PPF will definitely make those defects jump out.

Do yourself a favor, don't accept that shoddy work. It's not befitting of the Supra.

You can take it back, but it might not get any better. With all due respect, they did a shit job and I wouldn't want them touching my car again. It can be a difficult task finding a shop that does top notch body and paint, but you'll know it when you're paying the bill.

You can; 1) Bitch until the same shop redoes the work and hopefully the second outcome is better 2) Bitch until they give you some money back and then go elsewhere or 3) Take the lose and go to higher end body / paint shop...Some of those top quality guys will straight refuse to fix someone else's mess-ups because they don't want the responsibility.

To make your day better...Take the car to a PPF guy and have them do a paint thickness test on the affected area. They will not want to paint correct that area if there is any fear of burning through a thin area of paint.
