If I boost my power output on my 2023 supra 3 L automatic either by tuning or by aftermarket parts, how likely am I to negatively affect my warranty? Thanks in advance for any thoughts
Just get a JB+ honestly if you want a little power bump that won't affect warranty (as long as you remove it when going to the dealer) It is about 1-2 minutes to install/remove.

Otherwise it is undetectable by them once removed. I know someone selling one for $150 if you're interested.

Is the JB+ safe to use? Afaik it just modifies the boost which gains around 40hp as far as I have read.
Not really worth it imo …

Get an open intake manifold a downpipe and an exhaust and you have your 40hp without messing with the boost.

For the price, it's the best bang for your buck quick performance mod.

The other 3 listed would be cracking a good amount $$$ easily.

Its safe to use on a stock DP car. Only goes up to about 4-4.5psi over stock, though I recommend keeping it on default boost for pump gas. Max it out if you have 2-3 gal E in the tank.

I assure you that there is absolutely no better power for the money mod than the JB+ ? Not even close.

+running a DP without being tuned for it is just throttle closure city. not a big deal but not ideal.

Ok so it appears no one is really answering his questions, so I will (nice old dad that I am)...

YES.

Once you add something of your own to your car, all warrantees related to it are now void. Examples are:

1. You add a wing and drill holes into your trunk. It starts to leak and shorts out the electronics in your trunk. Toyota won't fix it.

2. You flash your car to produce 1000 hp. The transmission fails or the engine throws a rod. Toyota won't fix it.

3. You swap out a suspension piece with a race version and the race version fails causing you to crash. Toyota won't fix it.

I've been in for "extended" warranty service (which is the lowest hassle level of service you can get) with stock AND modified cars. You can almost tow a car in on fire with a stock car and a warranty will cover it. In my case, wife's car needed an ALL NEW transmission - bill was $14k. Covered.

BUT with even on a lightly modified car - I've been denied service on marginal items... they claimed lowering springs "affected" the radar cruise control, the latter was malfunctioning before lowering. Even had BMW back me up. The labor cost to the warranty, 2 hours. :\

Although SOME dealers will warranty work if there's no catastrophic damage - I had a BM3 flash and needed a EVAP sensor replaced under recall. They mentioned the flash to me, I confessed the car was modded, but the EVAP wasn't related per se and they didn't mention it to BMW BUT it was logged as a modified car.

So in short, if you are going to mod it, be prepared to be an adult and accept responsibility if things blow-up.

Hey dad! I’m a 74-year-old man in charge of 4 4 legged children and I really appreciate your answer! I have enjoyed reading all of the other snide answers, some of them are downright funny! But yours actually absolutely answers my question! I appreciate it! When I let my supra eat as much as it wants to, I get a good sized rush, and I enjoy it! If I can keep it in good shape to realize the most resale value in four years, my plan is to get a C8 Corvette ZR one! With the current Corvette offering 1064 hp who knows what they might offer me in a few years so I will try my best to keep my supra and fun to drive in the meantime! Peace be with you!

Ha ha ha - thank you @Vivianosboy! Apologize if I came across as speaking to someone in their 20s - the "adult" comment at the end. GenX dad on this side!

The Toyota/BMW collaboration was the main reason I picked the Supra. I've got 20+ years on the BMW side (M3s/F30s) so I love the parts and maintenance side because as Toyota's support drops off, we will ALL need the BMW side.

Best wishes on the ownership experience. The evolution of the Corvette has been pretty amazing and good to see Chevy at least keeping it attainable.

Good Saturday morning to you, my friend! Once again, I appreciate your input and enjoyed communicating with you also! Keep the rubber side down and stay between the ditches!

Toyota be denying warranty service if you drive above 85. So a sticker on the rear window will void warranty
Exactly what happened with 2 GR Corollas that caught on fire. Apparently these cars have been transmitting our driving data to Toyota.

I would expect the ZR1 to be fetching $200,000 after the greedy dealers have their way. I might consider it if my doctor gave me 3 years or less to live....?

I naively asked the same question of a few other Supra drivers at the meetup yesterday. One fellow said he voided his warranty within a week of getting the new vehicle, lol. The mods to his engine were amazing and that's just what I was able to see.

The sense I got was that there are very few things you can do to the engine or powertrain and keep your warranty intact. A guess a JB4, or anything you can remove without a trace, would probably be ok.

I'm envious of anyone who can just ignore warranties.
Someone said that a dealer can look at the data and could tell if the engine had operated out of normal parameters. I guess like too much boost or HP. I don’t have that much knowledge but I would not count on keeping your warranty with a JB4. Maybe someone with one that has had warranty work could chime in.

Sometimes I wonder if this forum is real, or if I'm in an alternate reality.
