With all the publicity the MKV will get on NASCAR and Le Mans

The rumored price is warranted

So far this is the Best attempt to get news about the Supra viral and refresh peoples mindsets about it. Somebody is really having a blast "leaking" The Z4 specs as the supra's; instantly igniting auto websites.

So the Supra is more expensive than the Z4? Yeah right.

The convertible Z4 40i weighs 3384lbs and the hardtop supra weighs only 80lbs less? That's almost too bad to be true. The E93 was around 400lbs heavier than the E92, and that's the SAME CAR, not something sharing some parts with. So around 3000 is the ballpark...hmmm where was this confirmed twice before?

Somebody wanted to hide the manual fiasco with a "underpromise and overdeliver" attempt that's is so far on fire LoL
Isn't the Mustang like 3500 and the convertible makes it 3700?

If the Z4 was 3380 lbs, wouldn't that make it realistic to believe it's 3100?

I'm sorry, but I don't believe the leaked 335-385 horsepower figures... BMW has already said that the new S58 engine will be tuned to have 475 horsepower, and that it's based on the BMW B58/S55.

There is no reason for Toyota to leave the HP alone on the borrowed BMW engine. I just don't buy it. If it's not disinformation and it's true, then i just don't buy an MKV Supra.

so on/so forth. I expect similar output from the Supra, especially if you're going to ask 60K+.......

While I haven't given up hope yet, turbo for my BRZ would probably be 8k when its all said and done with a tune, making just about 400hp/315lbft. I have about 100lbs of sound deadening in my garage that I have been meaning to install, and even with all that curb weight will still be under 2900lbs...

:hmm: Maybe not a bad idea... or I could do something similar with my completely stock S2000.

Make sure you drive the RCF extensively, love the Lexus brand in every way, but it is a totally different car than the M2...
Yes, I've driven both. The RCF is the 'reliable/luxury' option and I like the idea of having the high revving V8; the M2 is the 'fun/manual' option. They are different cars for sure. Either way I'm keeping the S2000.

In the end, the perfect car doesn't exist, I've been waiting too long to upgrade as I keep thinking something better will come out. In the meantime my car budget is growing, maybe I'll start looking at used 911s again.

I just wish Toyota made a 300+ hp 86, or an RCF that weighed 500lbs less, or the M2 had Toyota reliability. The supra could have been any of those options but it looks like it will miss what I'm looking for at a reasonable price. I try to stay away from this site until there is real news from Toyota but I just cant do it.

Not really,

The 718 Cayman and Boxster weigh the same despite one being hardtop and the other a soft top. So technically depending on how the chassis was developed they could essentially be about the same weight.

Also, for whoever mentioned the e92 m3 vs e93 m3 one was a hardtop convertible vs coupe. hard top convertibles have a lot more weight than soft tops.

Just got some information from a dealer source in Asia that they are supposed to be receiving a more modest version of the car with smaller in dash unit (no HUD etc) and only the bare necessities, though this will be 4cyl apparently (keeps cost down etc).

I then took this info back to an engineering source and asked about the same thing in the 6cyl and was told it will be made available but that it may not be the case in all markets. So, looks like if I want a decent Supra, I may have to just buy one in Europe or Japan LOL.

Hmm What AM I driving?
I know a lot of people don't like it, but I'd be ok with a 4 Turbo with Manual if it's reasonably priced that is lol I guess if I ever get a chance to live in a Foreign country I can always get one of these other variants.
