Okay, well, update is that price and weight are indeed both increased. Not sure on exact numbers, but I guess my source wasn't far off. I'd say we're about 80% sure, still nothing concrete.

Power numbers are still up in the air, can't pin down exactly what motor is in the damn thing. Just a hunch says expect the 380 number, not the 335 number. I don't have any info to back that, but look at the response by the world for God's sake lol. If this motor is indeed what we heard from inside sources, it will be very tuneable and we can expect to get it cranked up by tuners sooner rather than later after launch. I'll try to play my part in that as best I can.

I still trust Tada-Sans ability to make a fantastic platform more than I distrust TMS' ability to keep the car pure as he intended, if that makes sense.

I have the Q50RS and it is indeed an awesome car, especially as my DD... Drove an RC-F before buying it and liked that too but was like yeah not for that price increase.

So you work for Lexus and drive an Infiniti?

The only person, I feel bad for is not enthusiasts, but Tada. The 86 was the first car he was able to make and outside of power, was great.

Now we have a matter of this getting screwed and he just has to watch from the sidelines as the car he wanted to work on gets muddled and fucked with by Toyota USA because numbers say more than the emotion felt from driving.

TSS shouldn't be that heavy if we can get at least 3200 lbs but 3400? Dear lord.

This thing is going to receive bad press on top of the lack of manual. How could they even say they have Cayman in sight when the car is bloated?! And at 62.5k?

All this time...just for this?

I'm waiting for news reporters to come in and say this is highly likely to be true that it will weigh this amount at this price point.

The 86 was really awesome in that Akio empowered Tada to do his own thing to get that car completed. The Supra is so far from that project in terms of convolution and other parties involved.

And what about the MR2? Is that actually going to be the true Cayman killer if they indeed plan to make it after this Supra? I'm really disgusted and I hope toyota wakes up and see what they should do rather than what they want. A mini Cayman at 40k that sits beween the 86 and Supra would make me very happy and something worth spending money on.

Which TSS? Toyota's own TSS (like the one in the current car)?(Camry) Toyota TSSP2.0 like what's rolling out on the 2019 cars (Coralla HB, Avalon)

Willing to bet there's a story behind it if it's so heavy which it shouldn't be that heavy.

14 way heated/cooled BMW seats now that's heavy. BMW I drive derivative or whatever Toyota version that's prolly heavy.

Remember entuned 3.0 in the 2019 upcoming Avalon and Corolla is just a touch screen. That's not heavy. Adding the scroller and all the other system connecting to a screen that's not a touch screen. That's heavy.

Add all that up and you got a lot of heft.

If the Supra has to be stripped down to get light, it is too expensive. For 60K you can get a CF tube really light weight 1000 kg Alfa 4C, or a less hard core car at 1100 kg with alu spaceframe as the Alpine A110, or turbocharge the Toyobaru for even less.

I would actually blame Toyota for signing on this joint project in the first place. It takes two to tango.

I believe if Toyota wanted to do another trim or to have two trims with different powers or grades and BMW refuses. Then it's game over from there. I got a feeling that BMW had refused some of Tada san's request.

Honestly. in my opinion the better partner to build the Supra and a good Japanese car would have been Mazda. Imagine the weight saving tech of the Miata in a Toyota RWD platform with a Toyota V6 at the helm, and also with Mazda's light interior designs.being two japanese companies, they wouldn't charge you european prices for it too.
