oh, they're gonna put some hard spin on it to try to sell the car regardless, but unless they drop that price, increase the power, and/or both, it's not gonna sell very well IMO
Apparently some of the marketing campaigns that are in development for the US are really awful. We'll see what they end up on, though, most marketing starts with a wide range of garbage that eventually becomes something more targeted.

From the very beginning I figured there would be a big conflict of interest with the Supra being BMW...why would BMW want to allow Toyota to use their resources to create basically a better & cheaper BMW than their existing models only to increase Toyota's brand equity? This would easily open up a huge can of worms amongst BMW fans...could y'all imagine the outcome? They would want even more performance and better pricing for future M-Sport/M cars in an era where BMW is more about comfort & luxury..

..the saddest part is the Supra might still sell decently because it has quite a strong brand behind it that many "light" enthusiasts recognize...I could imagine plenty of mid-aged folks, who could care less about the actual performance, getting one just because of the name.

The only person, I feel bad for is not enthusiasts, but Tada. The 86 was the first car he was able to make and outside of power, was great.

Now we have a matter of this getting screwed and he just has to watch from the sidelines as the car he wanted to work on gets muddled and fucked with by Toyota USA because numbers say more than the emotion felt from driving.

TSS shouldn't be that heavy if we can get at least 3200 lbs but 3400? Dear lord.

This thing is going to receive bad press on top of the lack of manual. How could they even say they have Cayman in sight when the car is bloated?! And at 62.5k?

All this time...just for this?

I'm waiting for news reporters to come in and say this is highly likely to be true that it will weigh this amount at this price point.

Jesus fucking christ.
It seems to weigh as much as an R33

hopefully they offer a GT3 option, like the RCF, GT-R, AMG GT etc.

Making it a luxury pig just starts to shit in the RC-F's nest. That's the luxury coupe (aka Soarer)

Supra needs to be the sports model. Sure, add option boxes to add heated bullshit seats, heavy nonsense blah blah blah...

BUT FFS LEAVE THEM AS OPTIONS

Some of us just want a proper sports car, not an aerodynamic M2 without a 6MT.

It's very difficult going from "you know how you guys say want a true successor to the 2JZ?" to "it's a little better than an ecoboost mustang"

To me these unconfirmed specs aren't that bad. But I do have to agree with everyone on the pricing. To me if it performs likes a M240i, than it should be priced like a M240i. No more than $45k starting.

and don't call it a Supra. A Supra doesn't compete with hot hatches. It competes with sports cars. The 86 can compete with hatch bullshit.

The mass is the big thing for me. 1300kg range is impressive these days - it says 'true sports car'

and it's harder to pull weight out (and keep it as a nice road car) than it is to add power.

so 1380kg and 340hp would be better than 1500kg and 380hp imho.

Let’s hope this doesn’t turn into a Dodge Dart situation. Before we know it, it’s going to be 4 doors and a FWD economy car

That ship has sailed. Well it technically competes with Nissan Zs :p.

Let's try and use lbs. The correct unit of measurement. ;)

Buddy your joking about a GT-3 option right, Toyota USA has just shown they do not even want a proper Supra...they want a luxury heavy slow boring to drive auto coupe at an ridiculous over priced level...think that really bad 2door Cadillac...
