What temps are you guys seeing on your transmission when tracking? I was looking at some logs from a few weeks back when I ran at Willow Springs, and my 6MT-transmission temp was consistently running at 222-229. Ambient temp was 88 degrees.

Beyond the MT vs AT data difference, the fluid in each is different and I have to imagine the manufacturing of gears has gotten better than older stuff.

My only temperature data points for MT is from much older cars that had mechanical fluid pumps inside to keep the gears cool. We generally treated gear temp like oil temp in that if it was below 250 we were happy (with a suitably thick fluid). 250-270 was border line, and above that it was either plan on cool down laps or put a cooler in.

If the computer thinks yours is sub 230 I would guess it's doing fine. You can always send a sample off to Blackstone for review which will tell you a lot more about how things are doing in there than anyone on a forum can.

Has anyone done a modification with the verus v1 splitter, like adding splitter tunnels? Any luck ?

Yes. @garudathree did a whole bunch of mods when he had one, including tunnels and extensions.

I personally have dropped mine with spacers 15-18mm and reversed the rake from positive to negative so it actually started working a little bit more than not working at all. It was a noticeable change in front DF on track. So much that it made me realized that out of the box it doesn't do shit.

Knowing what you now know, would you have gotten something different? If yes, which? I'm leaning AJ w/ 5" stick out but am somewhat worried about street-ability. (Outside of driving to/from track, the car sees little street time; but I don't want to have to tow to track so still need it to be able to clear speed bumps, etc.)

I am personally fine with the baby aero because I too drive on the street and to/from the track.

BTW, you can still do dumb stuff with the standard one. Case in point me ripping my splitter off on a train track last year:

Did the car start to oversteer after the splitter mod? Did you adjust the rear spoiler angle to compensate for the increased front downforce?

@raysupra Im moving from basic verus to AJ Hartman this year. And some rear changes to match ;)
I think height adjustability is great option for sum1 like me that still street drives it and then U can lower it on the track. I plan to run it ~4" street and then ~2.9" track. Will see how it goes.
I went with 3" stick out and tunnels ofc. AJ told me it should be around 20% less df than 5" version. I plan to regain some df with fancy tunneled endplates tho :)
I considered Zebulon too but its fixed height and DIY airdam, no time to play with it, im busy enough this year so AJ it is :)

I tried to lean on aero and understeered straight into grass last season, thats how i found out basic verus does little vs UCW wing which i did run around 8°

I would try to experiment with the v1 splitter. It’s very robust and I think it can be easily modified, for example as mentioned above simply add rake and tunnels. The air dam can be made custom to close the gaps

While the modifications are simple, they are time consuming with a lot of trial and error with test fittings and waiting on additional parts. Dont forget the the time and added cost of the verus reinforcement rods as well.

Good to know that there are good alternatives to Verus. Is not a matter of if, but when mine will be ripped out or something.
