Ended up doing a last minute Time Trial event at Lime Rock with EMRA. I haven't done timed competition in decades so was fun to have some competitive push again. Ended up with a new PB (Barely) and won 1st in class, fastest time of the day and the new EMRA Lime Rock track record.

2nd place was @garudathree in his new M2.

Both tuned by me. ;)

@garudathree's fastest lap, with me in front:

Kudos and congrats, my dude. Seeing you overtake cars in your YT videos never gets old. Although I've noticed that my balls always tingle whenever you overtake porsches... weird.

@garudathree made me some fun aero bits to test out.

How does one even measure the impact of something like that? Surely you won't be able to tell through lap times, because i'd assume the impact (if any) isn't really too significant. So to do so would mean you'd have to be turning in laps so consistently....within maybe a couple of tenths or one another....on average, to be able to know

It's a pretty basic concept -- the less air that gets trapped in the wheel well, the less drag and lift the car has = more down force. That one singular piece isn't going to give Bryan hundreds of lbs of df but in unison with other pieces that assist with guiding/diverting air up, in, out, and around key areas all add that much more in aero efficiency.

new front wheel arch flaps and higher front tyre spats”

^^ these are present in the final edition - a discussion briefly had / ignored in the general thread - and these aero changes are costly on a production basis.

I’m wondering how these parts are obtainable - and how the arch flaps are attached on the final edition car.

Track day ended early for me today. My driveline has developed an insane vibration when loaded. Decided to call it a day and drive home while I still could.

Notice you can hear the BBBBBRrrrrrrrrrr of the vibration in this video, I couldn't hear that in car with helmet and wind but I could sure feel it. Also notice how much the camera vibrates when I am on power. It got so bad I couldn't even see anything out my rear view mirror because it was vibrating so much.

Taking bets on what it's going to end up being. Guibo? Driveshaft carrier bearing? Something else?

At least it happened during the last event of the season...

If it's the carrier bushing, look into the JXB carrier bearing support IMO. Easy install, good product, and he's a motorsports guy himself.

If you haven’t changed the original guibo yet, you got insane use out of it at your power level.

Definitely worth doing that JXB carrier support while you’re in there. That boot was also torn for me.

I have a similar symptom on my car after doing full WOT pulls which eventually goes away after normal driving. Keen to understand the root cause of the issue you are facing.

Are the aftermarket guibos actually better than the OEM one?

That JXB part looks nice....
