Does start in sport mode still work as a way to defeat the auto start/stop?

How can you tell what version you are on? I got the recall done today. It did not seem like there are any issues other than the mirror does not tilt when I put it in reverse. The map is now updated to my region and I had to reset my time zone. The car preferences were all still intact and when I got home I popped into BimmerCode. All the settings appear to be intact and I left the car running while I checked all the modules not touching auto start stop and it stayed running the entire time.

wait I found it, I am at S18T-24-3-519

I tried coding again the mirror tilt. It recoded, the ECU rebooted, I even turned off and on the car but it still does not tilt in reverse. That being said, the engine auto shutoff still does not kick in either. I guess all told I will trade the tilt for the disabled start\stop

Make sure the mirror adjustment switch is in the driver’s position for the mirror to tilt.

Now THIS is how to properly socialize an issue, listen to suggestion, and resolve the issue.

Yeah @Parkofadown, talking to you.

So in doing a little more research, it could be that the auto stop was not kicking in as i was idling and reading the bimmercode settings was because my seatbelt was not fastened. I will test tomorrow but it will probably impact me. The auto start-stop disable icon was not on the dash so there is no suggestion it would not be functional. The car was in normal mode but i definitely was not sitting there with my seatbelt on, i think i even had the door open. It is interesting that all the other bimmercode settings were set. It was also interesting all my backups were gone. For reference i am using the z4 bimmercode view over the supra one because back in the day there were more settings available. Not sure if that has since changed.

I am sad to announce that after proper testing, the auto start/stop is very much alive with -519 despite deactivating it or setting it to memory with bimmercode.

You're not alone here...I literally spent 6+ months without mirror tilt because I apparently moved the button alongside playing with bimmercode for the first time and had no idea that kept the mirrors from tilting.

I just set mine to start in sport mode after having the recall done. Usually I put it in sport mode anyway after initial start up and I just have the transmission set to normal mode and swap that when necessary or I want to run it in sport so I don't have to deal with the auto start/stop kicking in cause I almost always forget to shut it off when I'm driving after having it coded off for so long.

Sport mode on startup still disables the functionality of the start/stop system.

Does anyone know if the display brightness is fixed with this update, or do you still need to use bimmercode?

I think it’s much improved and matches dash brightness. I haven’t coded it back.
