Hmm.. my build date is February 2023 so maybe there's an update I should look into. Do you think the dealer will apply an update if I ask them to?

Also, how exactly does it sound better?
If you go to the dealership and ask for an update because of the soundsystem they likely won't do it.
However if you have issues with apple CarPlay they will do it for free most of the time. They will update every module in the car.

The bass from the subwoofers seems more punchy because of more power. The door speakers seem to go lower after the update.
In general the whole system sounds much better, more powerful and less annoying.
My only complaint now is the missing low bass at high volume.
Maybe this will be improved after I put sound deadening everywhere.

Interesting. After the Tadda mod I'm not hating the sound system and I'm not sure much could be done to improve it further without significant hardware changes. I'm not a bass junky and my main complaint with the system as is, is that the mid-range is quite muddy compared to decently amplified Focal speakers, for example. ?‍♂

Hmm mine was updated last month and had no change in sound quality. They actually specifically updated it because I was having issues with a subwoofer distorting on one side so I was paying attention to that.

It's possible that your car already had the new update installed when it was delivered. Then it would make sense that you wouldn't notice a difference.

It's a free improvement so I took the offer. I can only recommend it!
An external amp will of course offer a better sound. But this goes into a rabbit hole.
