Switching to Manual from Auto version?

Would you trade in for the manual version?

I'm looking into this...only issue is having to remove all the parts and then re-installing ..not to mention the wait

Unless you've got a built motor, this is a relatively quick swap over. Put it back to stock, trade it, done.

The auto vs. manual debate is going to tear this forum up lol. It all started with the BMW vs. Toyota. Moved on to the 3.0 vs the 2.0. Now we've got auto vs stick.

Curious at what we'll be arguing about next year.
Lighting a new fire: Verus, Blackline, or Golden Wrench caps to replace the OEM ones?

Why not both...? I'm buying the manual and will then decide the fate of my '21.

This is maybe the answer. I’ve said this in a few threads but a 2.0 manual would be a hell of a lot of fun.

Naww.. Even if you could only get a manual in the 2.0 I still wouldn't buy one. "Less weight, lower CG, better weight distribution, blablah.." Is all affirmational BS unless you're truly a hard core track rat; otherwise you bought the secretary edition and are just making excuses. 🤡

I'm not saying I would get rid of the drag car I'm building. It'd be fun as a second toy.

Been driving with stick since I was 21 with Bimmer and Subie. Supra was first auto since then. I do not miss BMW manual, but I dearly miss my STI manual. Unless, I have extra cash for STI, it would have to be Supra being the manual for me.
This 100%. I went from an STI to the Supra after test driving M3/4 manuals. BMW hasn't made a great stick shift car in many years.

I get that. From my perspective though you could build something a LOT more fun for a lot less money if you're simply looking for a toy. My LS3 Miata comes to mind.. Different strokes and all....

RE: drag car -- some of us want to do more than just hold the wheel straight, but I get it. I enjoy the challenge of building something that is trying to do everything it can to kill me and being able to tame it. ET be damned; the goal is FUN.

Ok yes. Dropping the subframe is a bitch. Just buy a new one. :p
Yup, definitely more worth it to get a new one.

I'd definitely get a second car to have that manual, rather than trade in the current Supra. And personal opinion, I'd rather get a manual on a '90s or '00s car (997-era 911, ideally). That era seems to be a good blend where the technological developments make you feel comfortable, but you don't have so many assists like rev-matching that its overly easy.
