Sameh has unsurprisingly been a little tricky to get a hold of, but the shop (Element) was able to step in and help me there because they have an existing relationship with him. So should be getting it done in the coming few days.

My wheels should also be arriving in the coming week or so, which is great. It's been a long 7 month wait.... 295/30/18 square CRS will be going on a 10.5" wide wheel

Got some work done before my track session later today

Subframe inserts are on. Subframe didn't need to be completely dropped. No incremental NVH...i say incremental because i already have motor/trans mounts on. Nothing changed NVH wise, but can't comment on whether they'd add any NVH from an OEM baseline

Titan Motorsports Titanium exhaust is on to replace the ARK DTS. 30bs lighter than OEM, and valved. No info online on whether it would fit the Verus diffuser, so we eyeballed it, assumed it probably would and bought the exhaust. It fits, with some trimming. Looks closer to the diffuser than it is IRL, so no it's not touching or going to touch under load. Misleading angle

Discovered that my Nankangs were corded last night. I'm still on OEM wheels, and there's a massive shortage of 19 inch 200tw tires here. And i had no time, so i had to settle for a insanely expensive option to make it in time for my track day. Cup2, which set me back more than $2K for the set. They're fast tires, but not CRS fast by any means

Ok i'm good with whatever you believe in, but i personally don't do the sky daddy thing. But if i did, this would've been en emphatic sign that he/she/it is not a fan of me. I've been waiting for my 18 inch made-to-order wheels from Japan since Feb. Less than an hour after ordering those eye-wateringly expensive but not elite 19 inch tires, i get a call from the shop saying my wheels will be in soon. 18 inch 200tw are easy to find here....and obv half the price of the ones i bought. FFS...
2k for CUP2?? For the front and the back?

Bit more actually. Yeah front and rear. Almost but not quite double the cost of CRS around here

Well i got shafted pretty hard today. It was a mad rush to get everything on today, and the shop was on point. The turbo, coolant tank, wheels, tires, meth tank.

But it seem like the tuner, Sameh, has a family emergency and couldn't come through on the tune. The domino effect from that is not insignificant.

I have a track/autox battle tomorrow organized by Toyota that i can no longer attend
I had a track day booked for Monday. Can't do that either, or get a refund.
The first time attack event is next weekend, and even if i can get the car ready during the week, i'd be going into a race scenario with an untested setup. New tire setup, new turbo, new tune, new alignment....and 0 track time. Not a good idea, so i'm likely going to have to miss that too. I'm not as upset about the money lost there as i am about missing an event i've been waiting many months for.

Pretty bummed. For both myself and the shop that worked pretty damn hard to help get the car to where it is

Sameh ALWAYS has emergencies. I lost track of how many he "had" when I was working with him. I think he got in five "car crashes" in two weeks. However, he always had time to post photos of him hanging out with ladies on his instagram at the same time. Dude is so full of BS.

What is the reason you are changing the coolant reservoirs away from OEM?

What platform are you tuning on? I am happy to help if I can.

OEM is plastic, so peace of mind. I do like the extra capacity as well.

Yeah I don't know If I should believe him, but It doesn't matter anyway. Was initially supposed to be a in person dyno tune (we had the dyno ready), they we agreed to get a remote tune...like just send us a base map so we can log and get a retune....

I do appreciate the offer. truly. Incredibly cool of you. But I don't know if you'd have the time to get that base map + retune done in time. I'm on BM3. Pure800, catless DP, manifold, flex fuel (will run e40ish at the track), methanol (we debated how to use it, and likely settled on cooling). Shooting for 600, but really that's not important, this is a time attack build and the number itself is secondary and just symbolic really.

yea would be a bit of a leap. Happy to help in the future though if you want to get away from excuses and BS lead times.

Yeah the timelines are just too tight. I really do appreciate the thought though.

For the future (or anytime really), i would take also you up on that as i've seen enough around here to know that you would be an excellent option that i can learn a lot from. But i would never want it as "help"....and i would insist on compensating you for what is obviously something that is not easy to do. I would fee a lot better about doing it that way tbh. If all that makes sense to you just tell me when and i'd send you a req via BM3.

Damn I’m paying 1675 dhs each (VAT Included) for the cup2 don’t know how it reached that high up, also are there any benefits to changing the front tires too?

I usually get my tires from pitstop.

Matching front and rear tires is not as important as matching the rears and fronts separately, but it's still highly recommended.

Different tire brands (and even different models within the same brand) use unique rubber compounds and tread designs. If your front and rear tires don’t match, the way they grip, flex, and heat up under load can be very different. So you get unpredictable handling.

Also very different grip levels front and rear can mess with your electronic nannies (e.g. TC)...because they're tuned to work with tires of similar grip levels.

So i found a very good local tuner who agreed to sort me out, but it seems like BM3 is down and has been since yesterday....can't request tunes, can't flash etc..

And it's the weekend, so i don't think pro tuning freaks are going to do anything about it.

Had that same issue a couple times at an event. It sucks. Time to move to MHD.

I have and it’s a much better experience. Everything just works.

It's just a bit cost prohibitive at this point...those Nitrons have been whispering into my ear at night.

The BM3 situation is so confusing. I haven't heard a whisper about it from anyone here, or online. Pro Tuning Freaks seem to be going about things like business as usual. But I know it's not just me because everyone here in the UAE is facing the same outage. But it doesn't make sense either that this is a UAE only issue...we haven't been able to request tuners or flash maps in more than 2 days now
