Scheduled to pick up my manual GT in a month. The day is getting closer 😁

I’ve been tracking the price of second hand Supras in a spreadsheet. The asking price has slowly started to trickle upwards.

Also the dealership management refused to throw in any extra merch, stating that the $4000 discount they gave me on the car was criminal, given that the car was now discontinued. There is a lot of FOMO driven demand at the moment for the Supra, especially in manuals.

Interesting. I think the car should hold its value fairly well. Obviously, the discontinuation and the bizarre new V8 Supercar announcement will give them a nice boost.

Current owners just need to stay strong and not offload their cars quickly and on the cheap. I've noticed an influx of used buyer shills on Facebook pretending these cars are not in demand to try lower prices. I have no intention to sell and literally have no skin in the game, but we all know these cars are worth the hype.. and with only 200-300 manuals in the country, it's definitely a sellers market, no matter what the used car buyer clowns try on.

You're lucky to have gotten a discount at all! I paid exactly what the Toyota website said. There was zero wiggle room and believe me, I tried. Nothing was thrown in except for the shitty stock floor mats that I didn't even use. I couldn't even get a boot mat or boot net thrown in. Nothing. In the end, I was just grateful they didn't molest the front bumper.. which was an ordeal in and of itself.

To contrast this, when I bought my Type R (nearly twenty years ago), I not only got a few grand off, I also had the optional GP front bumper and rear diffusers thrown in (keeping the original ones which I later sold); a spare Red H and Type R badges; touch up paint and even a spare set of official Type R front and rear floor mats.. all thrown in for free. Oh, and I even negotiated a free oil change at 1000km.

Good luck trying that today.

Having spent the last few weekends restoring/refreshing my Type R, all these items have come in super handy. If I were to buy them now, they would be (actually are) worth a small fortune!

I'm not sure what other marques do, but Honda Australia are trash now with fuck all dealers and fixed pricing Australia-wide. And at $79,000AUD the FL5 Type R is insanely overpriced.

Less than I expected, but it still look like a lot of the used cars are dealer cars, demos maybe?
Of those 40 only 9 are manual and 5 fall under the 'Dealer demo and near new' category.

Will be interesting to see how this looks over time.

Down to 24 in total. 16 Auto and 8 Manual. Not sure if it's just coincidence but that's just over half of what was there about a month ago.

Looking at Carsales, things continue to look pretty good. Only 23 A90s for sale Australia wide with a number of those being dealer demo/executive cars - only 9 are private sales. And only 9 of all available cars are manuals. Crunching the numbers via an AI overlord, a MY23 manual GTS has a projected five year depreciation of between 5 and 10% for an excellent example, blowing out to 20% for something less well maintained.

I don't plan to sell but with only 1500 odd cars in this part of the world, it's interesting to run the numbers.. particularly with YouTube morons and potential new owners doing their best to pretend these cars are dropping in price.

Hey everyone. I am from Sydney and I deposited for a Supra back in August last year. I have still yet been allocated as of now and with the production set to be stopped in March. Should I keep waiting and pray or just look for a used one?

FYI these are the specs I ordered for:
GTS + Plasma Orange + Automatic + Tan Interior

That's a pretty specific spec. If I were you I would be calling every dealer I could find to see what they have already on a boat as I don't like your chances. I've seen reports of others having their orders cancelled after a long wait. And the dealers generally aren't very communicative.

Best of luck.

I have been in regular contact with my dealer and I just get 'No news yet - still waiting'. I have also used car sourcing services where they called every Toyota dealer to check if they have an allocation but the buyer cancelled - nothing there.

The only good news is that the same dealer I ordered from told me their June orders for Supras were allocated in December. And I am currently first in the queue for the next allocation.

Yeah, most of us went through the long wait, some less patiently (me) than others. I got an email in October to say it was being made or had been made, then nothing until about March to say it was coming, then when they confirmed the boat was in the port they couldn't even tell me when it would get to them.

On another note since I bought through Sci-FLeet and found out they are sponsoring a few supras for the Supercars, I thought I would hit up the sales manager and ask for some tickets. He said they didn't have any. Like they didn't have any merch when I bought the car.

At least you got an allocation... still radio silence on my side - I might consider the M2 G87 if I still don't hear anything soon.

Your specs are so specific. These arent made to order, but match to what you request as they're built.
