I got sick and tired of cold starting my car in the morning and letting it warm up for a good 15 minutes and almost stalling out turning into oncoming traffic trying to get out of my neighborhood.
The next morning I thought maybe I was being too gentle with the car letting it just warm up barely giving it gas past idling, so I started thinking that this is a high-performance sports car. This morning after letting it warm up and backing it out of my driveway that’s when I started to I rev the hell out of it. The first couple days I did this it did the stalling out thing but in Park. The harder I feathered the gas the more bogged out and started to stall out. Then after a few more days I started driving it around my block before I hit the main road as soon as the car kicked in the gear and stop stalling and never had the stalling problem all day long.

It seems I don’t really have this stalling problem anymore after I back out of the driveway put it in park and rev the hell out of it before I takeoff in the morning. I know this isn’t a fix there’s definitely something wrong. My car is 2022 GR Supra 3.0 Premium with 1,600 miles on the odometer. It started doing this two weeks after I purchased the car.

For all of us to be having this problem I think it rolls out with a lot of us thought personally was wrong with the car. Bad gas, Bad air filter, and so on. if no one had their gas filter replaced before this started happening then it must be A bad part from the factory. If they’re saying it’s software then they must be thinking that every single one of us are tuning their cars and they’re wanting to do a software patch to fix something that has to do with tuning but for us who have never tune their car and are still stock. I’m at a loss.
Toyota, and more importantly the nhtsa, do not give a flying fuck about tunes. If it is software related, it'll get fixed regardless.

I've noticed this was happening in my car too. Although every time it has happened was in the 30 seconds of me starting up the car, doesn't happen any other time (knock on wood!), as was somewhat getting worried.

Learnt from the thread that it's normal per the manual, thankfully

So I have had this happen 3 times now on my 22 a91.

First was just the sluggish almost stall feeling after the rpms settled at start.

Second time was similar to the first but full stalled.

Yesterday was the worst. After sitting parked and rpms settled I left the parking lot and got ready to turn out onto the street. It hesitated as I was crossing the lane and was basically a sitting duck waiting to get tboned.

I feel like the only consistent thing I've found so far is all three times where I was parked my rear end was lower than the front end at an angle.

This was actually scary yesterday just being a sitting duck.

I'm bone stock and have only had the car for 2 ish months.

One thing I've noticed is the problem usually happens within the first 5 minutes of driving the car and often it is when pulling out of a parking spot or from a stop. Might be worth driving with TC off for a few minutes after starting the car to see if the problem still happens...

TC on or off?
My tc has been on and skysupra above me has it pinned down. Happens in the first 5 minutes from parked. I'll try turning it off. Thankfully it's not happening all the time, but it's happened enough times for me to be annoyed and concerned lol.

Thanks for the advice!

Hey all,

I think I have found a possible fix for this issue. My car will still do it every once in a blue moon but turning off "cross traffic safety" seemed to fix the throttle going unresponsive. The sensors seem to be really sensitive.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, I’ll definitely try this. Car Sensors are very touchy.

I seem to have this issue only in Sport mode. It doesn't happen in normal mode. It's really annoying when you're trying to leave at a stop and the car barely moves than a second later it takes off like mad because you're pushing the pedal hard.

If you don’t mind me asking what year is your Supra?

To this date, issue still not reproduced after update.
About 1500km in now, still not reproduced.

Someone else with a stock vehicle, that is willing to have it updated, should try it out and report back.
More voices = verification of the fix.

Has everyone experiencing throttle hesitation had the brakes recall done? Because I use to have this problem before the recall and have not had it since. While it would happen rarely for me, I haven't had it since and I wonder if the recall had something to do with it, or if it is just a coincidence

Yeah, I've experienced it before and after brake recall. Previously in this thread I had said that I haven't experienced it after being tuned on EcuTek, but I take that back now as I've experienced it multiple times recently. Typically, after a warm start and pulling out of a parking lot (e.g. leaving the gas station). That's when it feels deadly. I have noticed some very minor hesitation moving off at a stop light. Mostly experienced in normal mode for me. Will try that cross traffic safety setting and see if anything changes but I really don't have it happen often enough to tell right away.

I had this happen again this morning really bad. Left me hanging while pulling out for what felt like 3 or 4 seconds. I've had the brake recall done. I was experiencing this before the brake flash and hadn't felt it again till this morning.
