indeed, i can admit it is really hard to draw the line...if we go with such a vague definition then hypothetically you could make the case for so many cars out there to be considered a GT.

Yes, it could be smaller than past Supras. I don't know about that. The outgoing Z4 already has roughly the same overall length as the 86. And as you know the BMW Zs have gotten larger with every pasting generation. Honestly, some of you guys need to stop acting like the car is going to be a size of a Miata. We already know the Toyota/BMW press release have stated it will be a mid-size sports vehicle. IMO, I think it will have a overall length of around 170 inch+. Just because they used a modified 2 series shell as the test mule. The car will be the size of a z4 so it means it will be significantly smaller than any of the past supras , also it will be smaller than even the 86 (except the width) , so i wouldnät call it a GT. I personally don't like this since when i heard supra i thought it would be like the last supra which had enough room in my opinion and also was fast. I find it very cheap to say that the new supra will be very very light because of the technology it was put in it , it really is not lighter from the mk4 supra , it is just smaller.
It shouldn't be too much longer. The Toyota test car is usually just a few weeks behind the BMW car when it comes to undressing the camo.Won't they have to start testing this thing without all the bulky panels to check for wind noise and such?
Yeah true we got a bit off topic there .Yes, it could be smaller than past Supras. I don't know about that. The outgoing Z4 already has roughly the same overall length as the 86. They no doubt already have, on private testing grounds, in wind tunnels, and maybe even on rented tracks. I think at this stage it would be too close to production to make major changes in any body panels.Won't they have to start testing this thing without all the bulky panels to check for wind noise and such?

I hope it is a mid sized 2+2 GT sportscar. The reality though is that the car probably will be smaller than the 86 so it will be compact and also a 2 seater .wasn't it going to be bigger than the Z4?
lol, thanks, but I'll past that honor to some else with more time on their hands.I hereby nominate you to be a mod on this forum....
SCOTT26 one of the bmw insiders said that the car is much smaller than previous supras , also we have seen the car and it is about the size of a z4 , maybe a hair longer. With that said i still have hopes that it will turn into a toyota mid size car and not just a z4 coup.Just because its a 2 seater doesn't mean it has to be compact and smaller than the 86. Your 2 seater C7 has a length of 176.9 in.
Lol, I'm pretty sure I'm the one that linked that here. People's perception will vary. You can't always judge a size of a car by photo alone. As Guff pointed out in past threads there are factors that play a role like: distance, angle, and camera lens. All I know is that the press release from above says "The companies agreed to set-up a feasibility study to define a joint platform concept for a mid-size sports vehicle that is to be completed by the end of 2013." Hopefully we'll know a little more in a few weeks.SCOTT26 one of the bmw insiders said that the car is much smaller than previous supras , also we have seen the car and it is about the size of a z4 , maybe a hair longer.
