Hey all, installed the armaspeed intake on my 2020 supra. Took it for a drive and not hearing anything close to what i’ve seen. Extremely minor sound when accelerating and no sound when letting off the acceleration.

Sounds closer to stock than a cold air intake. I made sure all connections are secure.

Anyone know what the issue could be? Rest of the car is stock

I find that you often have more luck hearing the intakes in regular mode then sports mode just due to where the RPMs are at.

You can also remove the top cover to get more sound, though you'll be in the hot air intake territory.

if you really want to get a good feel of how it sounds, get up to about 45-50, flip it in manual mode, put it in 8th, and nail the gas. You'll get some nice air suction action as the turbo spools up, and when you let off, you'll get some flutter. I generally wouldn't recommend doing this as it puts extra stress on the turbo.

If you haven't already, disable ASD. It makes a difference.

We don’t get a ton of intake noise and unless you really installed it wrong, you’re probably hearing as much as you can. Stock exhaust? Aftermarket downpipe and stock catback will be the loudest intake noise.

can you verify the car is making boost?

update: verified car is still making boost but while driving noticed MAF and o2 sensor reading 0. Anyone know what the issue could be

The only issue seems to be in expectation management

Supra doesn’t have a MAF sensor. The sensor on the intake is a MAP sensor.

The Armaspeed intake should be about the same sound level as the MST V2.

It's impossible not to notice the MST V2 intake's impact unless you're driving like an absolute grandma or blasting tunes. The turbo noises are very pronounced, and especially if you drive between concrete barriers or underneath a bridge it's louder than some exhaust systems.

Not the exact same product, but all the sound clips I've heard put them very close to each other in noise levels and tone.

Have you tried full throttle then letting off quickly?

Actually found an old clip with full exhaust and intake. It’s loud, but not crazy loud.

I will say, after installing it on my MT, the AS intake is definitely significantly quieter than all the YouTube videos project it to be.. and my buddy just installed mst v2 and it's also much much less quiet than we expected as well.. the sound deadening in the supra is actually impressive, my tin can fk8 made my PRL intake sound very loud lol ?

I installed MAD intake (MST rep), after I already had an exhaust and catted dp. It is definitely louder than stock, with a lot of turbo noises and BOV sounds at full throttle.

Not sure how it would sound with stock dp and exhaust, but I assume a little quieter. Are you stock dp and exhaust?

Mine is covered and I only drive in sport. Turbo spool is loud and the "blow off" sound is loud.
