Updated comment 4 with AJ Hartman. Seems to be very competitive with 9LR lineup, only thing is that the data is provided as performance deltas on s550 mustang and porsche 944.

How much downforce do you think is really needed for a track like Laguna Seca? I’m also curious about diminishing returns and the threshold
You can do Laguna fine without aero. If not experienced, you should learn the car close to its limit and then add the aero, and you will drop seconds in our times. If experienced, you can probably get away with a OTS verus UCW and their splitter for practically all tracks in California. After that, and youre chasing milliseconds, its just pay to play upgrades.

I’ve found a bunch of these vendor published cfd stats to be inflated once you hit the wind tunnel
alright I'll take the bait. what were the expected numbers and what were the test numbers? were you performing installed/removed testing of each component or sets of configs? any interesting findings of your bespoke attachments?

something that should have made ~450 lbs at 100 mph only made ~325 lbs, something that should have made ~350 lbs made ~500 lbs, something should have made ~181 lbs made ~275 lbs. my testing was just geared towards how to optimize my high downforce setup, vs selling a product/internet clout.

Do you have (or know of) a list with more accurate numbers for each?

there isn't, would either need to be wind tunneled, or CFD'd by the same shop with consistent parameters/vehicle mesh. otherwise it's a game of "pick the conditions that make my wing look the best", by which point comparing them is make belief.

@garudathree any chance you were working with AJ in the wind tunnel? I remembered a thread on the professional awesome FB group awhile back, and AJ mentioned that effective canards have the appearance of making the wing worse due to aero balance shifting forward (OR sending dirty air to the wing OR a combination of both).

Since you're running the triple seven set which are the largest ones available, maybe that's the case (and why I was asking if you had time to do A/B install/remove testing). Similarly with the cantilevered front fender wing setup you have.

yes the test was done with both AJH and occam's razor, am sure the latter will have some info to share later on. the 777 canards were effective on my setup, with full flow attachment on the pressure side. everyone will have a hard time making enough front downforce on this car, and i probably have one of the most aggressive setups avail right now on the platform (purely from front axle #s)

They don’t release their numbers at all, I asked. I then asked could I get a ballpark range of their L/D just to get a window of the wing efficiency they sent me the data from Dundon and said the 330mm is very similar.

Any1 tell me how to recalculate this for lbs/kg? To have rough idea for df it. Or @i3igpete could do fast math for table? ;)

Unfortunately you can't convert that to a unit measurement. Basically all wings will have that exact same graph when normalized to 100%. All it's really telling you is how the AoAs compare against each other.

This is why I was asking for Zebulon Wing dimensions. It's highly unlikely that Zebulon (or any wing vendor, really) has a wing that can outperform MSHD profile by a significant margin, so you might as well use the MSHD's lift coefficient and multiply it by the zebulon chord/span.
