When do you think we'll know more about 2023 models?

Hello everyone, I've been looking for a new car and I think the new Supra may be right up my aisle. I currently daily an S2000, which honestly is one of the best cars for fun and the weekend but driving it for everyday things can be rough. I'll be selling it to a friend though so I know it'll be in good hands.

I know that no one can really know forsure when Toyota will announce the 2023 model but is there usually a precedent of timeline for when Toyota will announce their new lineup (with any updated features if any)?

I'm waiting to see if they do a facelift as well or if they add the manual, which I'm hoping may bring down prices of 2022 models (I'm indifferent to the manual and prefer an auto as a daily). What do you guys think, do you think Toyota will do a facelift as well? Anyways, thanks and hopefully I will join you guys soon by owning an A90!

First ever Supra was announced in January '19. I think A91 in Feb '20... Etc. Etc.
Speculation/expectation is Feb...

Expecting prices to go down in current climate is only possible if you find that one dealer offering below MSRP stuff. Otherwise I'd expect not too much savings even if MT comes. I believe it'd increase hype thus may even boost prices..
Can't speak for facelift. I said it before, I'll repeat, I personally am not expecting a facelift. No nose change, no headlight change...

Really hard to say. Toyota is in the midst of shutting down a bunch of factories in Japan due to parts shortage. I dont think their focus will be on such a niche car. Will most likely direct any chips they get their hands on to their main sellers corollas etc. They are pushing the GR86 hard as well.

Also to add so many 2022s are still on there way. Probably don't want to hinder those sales and probably wait till most of them are sold.

for this reason, i think Toyota has no rush to announce anything about the 2023, so they can clear 2022 sales. they're also not rushed by other car makers as they too are behind on production/releases. announcing 2023 early makes sense if there were meaningful changes.

Yes and no. If they biggest automotive company in world is having troubles getting chips and parts I don't think others are doing any better. I don't think toyota would direct parts and resources to a niche car if they had a choice between limited or high volume car. Their goal is to make their books look good and that means maintaining sales and production of their money makers.

Personally I don`t really see a major facelift happening to this generation supra. We might get different rims, power bumps, maybe manual and a few special editions. Probably will also be discounted by 2025.

the Z4 is getting a LCI (facelift) next yr. the Supra will follow soon after.
