Just looked under the car. Bizarre. There are little square cut outs where the jack would go. What the hell are you supposed to do with those???
The square cutouts are for either the jack that comes with the car, or you can put adapters in them for use with any type of jack - this is a BMW thing.

OEM Spare Jack (car comes with no spare and only fix a flat)

I have 4 race ramps and keep the car perched on them at all times. If I need to lift the car its ready to go. I also have 4 jack stands with the square adapters on them.

Its the best setup I’ve found unless you’re baller status and have quick ramps.

Or just crush them/remove them the first time and never think about it again.
Lots of people laughing at this, but I'm 100% dead serious. Mine are crushed flat as a fucking pancake. There's no reason to constantly fuck around with jackpads.

I removed one of mine day 1 to see what it was like, I wasn't a fan of the resulting spot since it leaves decently sized holes in the framerail, and from what I can tell the pads aren't easily removable, I broke clips so the pad I removed was never the same.

I’ve used these flat top jack stands on the plastic rectangle jack points for years in my BMWs without breaking one. Amazon also sells metal and poly adapters for these plastic rectangles. I prefer these to pinch welds any day of the week.

I’m sure it’s been said before but there are plenty of jack pads to choose from for BMWs. Another option, I made small wood blocks that fill the center and stick out 1/4” to correspond with blocks I created for my QuickJacks. Off of that, you could always make the wood blocks and glue them into the jack points to always have the center filled so it’s flush.
Now this is big brain talk

Possibly a really stupid question, I see where the Jack goes, but if my Jack goes where it supposed to where the hell am I supposed to put the jack stand? Anybody have any help on this?
Have you ever thought about a Quickjack? Love mine. Lifts the car 18" from all four Jack points. No jackstands needed to remove all 4 wheels.

When I first got the quickjack I figured I’d just use it when I needed to get the whole car in the air and I’d use regular jack and stands for when I just needed the front or rear. Nope! Quickjack for everything. Oil change, exhaust, suspension, braces, reflectors, whatever. It’s just so convenient.
