what ever you do to a car for the track needs to be balanced. Doesn't matter for the street. If you have a big spoiler you need a front splitter. And if you put on a front sway bar you will need a rear. etc
yep. balance is the key word. with soft oem in the back and stiff cusco in front, everyone who were in my car including myself felt that the car was about to lose control yet staying in course. as a driver, I couldn't push it no more than when I had OEM on both or even less. this is why i recommend to change both.

After running Federal 595 RS-Pro for awhile, my fronts are worn out! I also had an incident with one of the rear so I had to replace it.. stupid mistake... however, what is shocking right now is I cannot find these sizes! 595 RS-Pro 255 35 19 & 275 35 19 are dry and cannot find it any where. further more, 265 35 19 was available for last few months but it is also drying out! Not sure what's going on but vendors are having hard time. if anyone know what's going on, please chime in. it's like toilet paper just after pandemic was declared.

Having said that, I'm also looking at 275 40 18 size tires for track. If the group buy goes through, it will be 18" square setup and looking forward to it. I'm going with 40 profile instead of 35 profile only because OD is slightly larger.

If anyone has any insight on tire of these sizes, 275 35 18 & 275 40 18, please chime in.

If you can run 18" tires, Nitto NT01 would be very durable and consistent. Ran them for ~2 years on my E92 M3 to get a bunch of seat time in. Just run them until they cord. Typically saw 40-50 heatcycles on my heavy M3. (That's 10 track days if you do 4x 20 minute sessions per day)

RE-71R, RT660, A052, AR-1, Toyo RR etc are faster but also won't last as long.

Ummm......No. It depends what the car needs and what issue you are trying to address. You can absolutely change out one bar without touching the other.

Hankook RS4 is a good cheapish street tire for track days because they last so long. It is not the fastest tire nor give the best feedback but they are forgiving at the limit. If shooting for lap times, look elsewhere.

I amend my statement to say "should"
if you track with any frequency. RW platform you can certainly reduce body roll with front only. But you also can increase the push. My track supra certainly benefitted from both front and rear.

Additionally, If you do not own a Supra how can you advise Supra owners on what works or doesn't?

Generalities don't mean a thing if you are pushing the limits on a specific platform. Even ideal alignments vary wildly from brand to brand and even with different models.

I concur with statement. if you only change front, it feels like front is holding but rear is collapsing while making turns. feels very unstable. not just opinion or theory, I've done it and changing both made car car feel more stable.

Shout out to Apex for their extensive guide. It really helped me to decide to go with a square 18x10 setup with 275/35 -18 tires. Lots of R compound tires readily available! At great prices...

And with that being said, lots of videos and articles on racing Supra's with upgraded SPL components to get the alignment where you need/want.

Hope that helps anyone else.

I've always kept a spare set of track wheels/tires in my garage. I don't want to drive around on R compound in town ofc and once you start using them at the track, you never want to drive on track without em, imo! So best solution for me (for a non-dedicated track car) is just swapping them out.

I finally put my Kumho V730's on and had two track days so far with them. Okay the first day, much better the second day.

I would say, the price/performance ratio is hard to beat with these. They do not have the pace of the super 200's but they are faster than the endurance 200's.

For under $900 for all four 275/35/18, it's a great bargain for a pretty capable lapping day tire.

I do miss my Nankang CR-S tires but they are more expensive. That said, I have a fresh set ready to go on after these Kumhos

^^^ second day was better because the first day was a big heat cycle and then cure over night
Yea I understand that. Was just a pretty big difference. More so than other 200tw tires I have experienced.

I was really close to taking them right off after the first day.
