I feel like Tada is gonna start letting out more info, now that we hit the 1-year-left-for-release mark. Perhaps some performance stats, more final body parts. Maybe we won't find out about manual 'boxes until the final release.
What autoshow do you think they'll release it in? I'm calling 2019 Geneva.

I really hope so. I'm tired of being teased by Toyota. But, I'm calling Detroit 2019

I had a response typed out, but I'm tired of repeating the same stuff like a broken record...

The engine *should be the same* between the two chassis, so aside from fuel/timing/boost the hardware should be the same. It is also likely refinements were made by Toyota, but these would be present on both cars as they are still siblings and the motor is still BMW regardless.

So, engine wise things are pretty similar to the FRS/BRZ situation with the caveat going to ECU tuning/power level changing based on trim level.

I feel the motor may be a new architecture or at the very least a new variant of the B/S58 based on changes, but I have no further info other than assumptions.
I got a question, how different is the 124 from the Miata?

Different engine and transmission, for starters.
