For the inevitable “what did this cost” question, just under $2k all inclusive. I got the speakers and amp from crutchfield. I recommend going with their “open-box” or “scratch-and-dent” sales. I got both of these subwoofers for nearly half off because they had tiny scratches on the back sides, which you can’t see anyway.

Also, for those who prefer to have an adjustable bass knob (rather than just using the equalizer), mine is mounted above the wireless charging tray in that little cubby. Used double sided 3M tape, no drilling required.

How hard are those enclosures to remove if you had to access the fuse panel or battery?

I’ve seen people use strong Velcro for them. But most incorporate a bolt or 2 in the enclosure. So u gotta remove the sub to get the box out.

Cost of materials and labor was $1600 for both boxes. So about $800 apiece. I agree on the value, they are extremely time consuming to make, and even a slight error or hole in the enclosure results in distortion.

My boxes are held in by three screws apiece. As @Munkeeboi mentioned, they do cover the fuse box and battery, but they are pretty easy to remove, even without Velcro tape.

My designer and installer said they wouldn’t feel good about just using Velcro tape on a high-end custom job, hence the screws.

My biggest point on these boxes was stealth. Needed to keep as much open trunk space as possible. I’ve seen some pretty cool builds with the JL Audio 10TW3s, but they need more space than the 8s.

Nice setup...

I think it would be a good idea and very helpful to others if you started a new thread detailing your specific audio build and experiences...

Just trying to keep this thread on the original topic...

Thanks!

I like many others that have done this love it. Hands down the best thing I did to the car next to dustless brake pads. (I bought the car already modded not much more I can do lolol) first thing my boy had me do when he got his home, was pull that panel off from the exhaust ports. And I adjusted the eq. I do need to flip the baffling material around. I read it as it goes in perfect to the cut out going up instead of laying on the bottom. But it’s sooooo good idk if it will make that much of a difference. I laid dynomat down but didn’t notice any difference at all.. also had to put a couple foam pieces on the panel behind the seat.

also like OP I am finding more rattles in the back now lol. Though the one I have to find is from the exhaust now.. it causes something to rattle vibrate horrible now.

After much of the improvements outlined in the first post have been addressed you tend to find other minor sources of vibrations and rattles...Just recently I found another one I was able to eliminate....

It's like play a game of wack-a-mole!

Quick question…. On step 1…. Does the center part of the 1” wadding go up towards the roof, or down towards the ground?

I am talking about the part of the wadding that is 3” x 22” in the diagram below.

Does it wind up being up or down?
