So I'll probably do lowering springs and maybe sway bars but the rear sway seems like a lot of work to upgrade lol. There's this Cusco under brace (https://www.a90shop.com/product-page/cusco-rear-chassis-powerbrace-supra) but I'm not sure if it's actually going to do anything. If it does, might do that first before the sway bar but need to do some research on it unless anyone has experience with it and can confirm.

I also heard that this front brace (https://www.a90shop.com/product-page/tanabe-strut-tower-bar-mkv-toyota-supra-a90-2020) seems to make a difference but also am wondering if anyone can confirm with experience?
Unpopular opinion: from what I've read on our cars, lowering springs make the cars handle worse than stock. The geometry doesn't seem to like it. I'd dig into that before spending your money. Braces don't seem to help either, so maybe look into that a bit more also...?

@kaj or anyone else, any further thoughts on putting up a track times spreadsheet? A BMW buddy threw us Supras up on his group list. They do some time trial stuff. Would be fun to give it a go, push her even more, if I had the time. That was just one weekend at Sebring post Ohlins. I’m sure I can get both times down even further. The Garmin has some great suggestions now too ? Awesome tool for the money, imo.

@1slow_mk5 has the fastest times, btw. Need to put him up there.
That's super cool. I love going to the track and shooting for PBs, but it's always way more fun if you have people that you can get close to and compete with. I.E. I recently did an event where I won by 0.3 sec. That was a LOT of fun.

I FINALLY got the car on track in a serious way. The car is otherwise stock with camber plates (limited adjustment with stock struts), tires, and brake pads. Man, these things are quick. The underpowered HP rating had me even with GT350s. The handling had me giving fits to lightly-prepped Caymans. The car is a blast to drive. It's well composed when it gets out of sorts. I started feeling comfortable in it towards the end of the day.
My ONE, common complaint is the seat. I did my best to brace myself with the dead pedal and not use the steering wheel to keep myself steady.. but it was REALLY hard. I sure could have gone a lot faster if I didn't have to worry about sliding into the passenger seat all day. ?

So far, no regrets on selling the old car and moving onto this one.

Sounds like a plan, will do! I definitely plan on getting a lot of seat time this year.
hi,
for my first autoX event, i was with a few very seasoned supra drivers. from what i had read on this forum and conversation with them, in stock form, the best sport configuration was: normal engine, normal dampening, sport transmission, steering is your preference (i was fine in sport).

the reason for normal engine is its smoother powerband, when compared to sport. thus, better predictability and control, better man-vehicle connection

for this event i was stuck on my 93 map instead of stock, so i used manual mode and stayed in 2nd gear to avoid any over-thinking or complications. if i were to use the 93 map again, i'd try short shifting and using 3rd. for stock, too great of a tq difference, not sure on what advice to share besides saying use manual mode too! lol

for alignment, i had pretty much same all around (don't remember), 0 toe front, 0.20 toe rear

cold psi 28

hope this is useful info to you!

It’s funny what very little needs to be done to this car! Broken record: fastest guy down here, not me - no mods. And totally agree with you on the lowering springs. I’m back to stock height on my Ohlins and she’s totally fine. I had a feeling you’d love her and so glad!!!!

As for the seats, I saw other guys using a kneepad. That helps. And this I got a cheap metal seatbelt pretension lock. Wow what a difference that makes!

With your experience, you’re going to be killing it in this car. Like you, I drove momentum cars (RX8, S2K, MX5). The fact the Porsches, Vetts, GT350s, you name it can’t pull away or catch us is a bonus. Add your experience of carrying speed in the corners, momentum driving, getting loose, dancing on that edge, ease of recovery, you are absolutely right, she’s simply brilliant on track!

So happy for you dude! Welcome to the best track car bang for buck club ? Can’t wait to hear more of your experience with her. And more 1st places out of you ?

I'll try the configurations you mentioned! And I also saw better times for myself short shifting in to 3rd. I wasn't getting the speed in 2nd. Thanks for the advice.

These cars don't have the loss of time while shifting that manual trans cars do. Feel free to shift all you need to, you won't loose any time. Plus these cars die out up top, so the shift into the torque curve will probably help.

Going to be doing autocross for the first time this weekend. It’ll be through SCCA at the Daytona International Speedway. I’ve had two track days before at Sebring and the FIRM, but never autocross. Any tips or pointer you guys have for me would be greatly appreciated!

If track driving is zen nirvana, autocross is like robbing a liquor store at 1am high on meth.

Fast hands. Look ahead. Brakes are your superpower.

I also went from doing track days to trying out autox. Hmmm.... I'd say looking a turn or two ahead and setting up turns early and quickly is essential. Also knowing where to sacrifice speed is very helpful. Be patient on the tight stuff, as our cars like to get sideways.
Other than that, I never quite got used to seeing and knowing my way through a sea of cones. LOL. I got lots of DNFs.

Anyone run the new continental ECF tires yet?

Tire shop lost my tires I dropped off yesterday and I ordered a set of those
How does that happen?

ECFs are nice. I think they're the most streetable 200tw and they last for days. I've been consistently quicker on CRS or even V730 to consider them as a full fledged track tire.

If scheduling works out next year, that's the tire I would plan on running in One Lap though.

On CRS now. So that is disappointing. Thought they were supposed to be Tits

Used my suv to bring new CRS and drop off at tire shop. Show today at appointment and they can’t find them

Over eager fedex guy saw labels and just loaded them up this morning….

Probably 2-3 seconds off CR-S. ECF is an endurance 200. More like an RS4. Mine lasted FOREVER but I wanted more grip.
