Manual Supra Shift Knob Options out there?

Some of us just do not like any alcantara on surfaces where the hands go cuz it will get ugly real fast ?‍ .

Not familiar with that brand but Raceseng has the adapter so you could email them to see what thread is on it. Might be able to adapt the ARC to that. You could also get a die to cut threads on the OEM shift lever but goes back to what the ARC needs. The lever diameter might not match the threads you have to cut which will further complicate how you can tackle this.

1 or 2 companies were working on a short shifter option but I have yet to even see an update of it in social media. Since our throws are already shorter than other stock BMW most of the available options might not provide any benefit to our platform.

Raceseng has some titanium options and I can at least confirm that those would fit thanks to all of them using the same adapter. They might offer something similar in style to what you specifically are interested in, I'm just not into whole titanium fad and paying twice as much for the same thing.

I think that all of the shift knobs that have been posted here are heavier than the stock (200g). My red Nitro is about 317.5g as reference and it definitely smoothed shifts from 2-3 a fair bit. The titanium models below have the same weight as mine. These also probably the closest ones to the ARC models I was able find online.

Going with something completely spherical like one of the ARC models I saw might make it a pain to keep the OEM shift boot in it's place unless you already planned on getting a custom one done. I personally would not like to have the shift lever visible and the OEM boot being so short after the cut, might not sit where you want it. From my pictures on previous posts you can see how low on the lever it is zip tied and going a bit higher might make it start tugging when you're in 1st, 3rd. or 5th. Very few brands now days offer so much compatibility across platforms making it tougher to find something that will fit right.

now those knobs pictured look amazing! I’ll probably go with something like that. I also love titanium. And don’t mind the extra Pennie’s to be spent. Personally I prefer my lever exposed. Especially if it’s a modded one. I wonder if anyone makes a titanium lever.
Although I wouldn’t mind being able to adapt the shift boot to the assembly if it fits correctly. So I could go either way.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread, I was confident enough to complete the shift swap over and the cutting of the stock shift boot. Lucky I read where to cut.

I went down the Raceseng path and I absolutely love the feel and the look of the shift knob.

I don’t even have the car yet as it is getting delivered today to a dealership out of state that I’ll have to travel to next week to pick up, but…I already got this crown jewel in the mail ?? Raceseng Slammer, same as Ryan & Andy but in brushed translucent red—635 grams of 6 speed shifting sweetness (say that 5 times fast ?). And with the black collar as well. As you can see, the red is way more “candy-like” in person than the image on their website represents which I’m a big fan of. And the weight is phenomenal compared to other shift knobs I’ve had in the past.

So I installed this and am finally getting around to posting about it. I cut the stock boot 3/4" from the bottom of the knob sleeve like the others did, and that worked out well. The Raceseng Contour sits at the same height as the stock knob, and is extremely secure with the included adapter..

Overall, I'm very pleased with how it came out. I simply tucked the boot into the little gap under the knob, and it's staying put just fine. This metal beast at 500gr (stock is 200gr) completely changes the feel of the shift action. It removed some of the notchy feel, while greatly reducing the effort needed to row the gears overall. Lastly, going into reverse is so easy now, that I have done it by mistake while shimmying the car back and forth an attempt to turn the car around within the borders of my driveway... Overall 9/10, do recommend!

Sorry but this to me looks totally out of place in the Supra cockpit esp with the tan accented interior. Kind of like when I look down at my dog and see his lipstick poking out at me. Similar colour as well.
The Supra needs something that's elegant not loud.

How are you finding this knob a few weeks in? I have had one shipped out and I know you said it was 500g but holy shit it is heavy af. What's it like to live with? I'll be honest, I'm a bit worried about its weight!

Actually, I did this on purpose to not flow with the rest of the interior, as I thought the "red clown nose knob" would pop more in the peripheral vision of the person driving the car (along with people peeking in the windows when parked), and I had little intention of it being permanent, now that I have the threaded collar and can attach any Raceseng knob from their catalog...

We know that Toyota experimented with 100g, 150g, and 200g during development, settling on the 200g. Well, they were on the right track, and arguably should've gone a bit heavier, maybe a 300g in my opinion.

As for the 500g, it's absolutely fantastic! I had strong reservations once I held it myself, and wasn't fully sold on it the first week, but after using it almost everyday for the last 1,000 miles, I'm completely satisfied. Two friends got to drive the car with the stock knob first, and they both had the same reaction of "oh wow, this is how it should've come from the factory." It still feels every bit as precise in the gates, but with much reduced effort and a bit less "stickiness." Getting into reverse is also a piece of cake now, with a firm slap from the neutral position now easily overcoming the spring-wall. I couldn't see wanting to go heavier than 500g personally though, as I think it would start dulling down too much of the tactile feel. If (& when) I experiment with a different knob, it'll be solely to change the appearance and maybe shape, but I'm sticking with the 400-500g weight class. Hope this helps.

? yeah more translucent red!!! You're gonna love it. Not too bright that you can spot it from a mile away but also subtle enough to change things up in the interior. Even with my tan interior it doesn't really look out of place because of all the illumination being red as well.
