Don't know anything about the rumors but plants do change assembly lines, move tools, etc when they've to make room for new lines. Maybe Magna will add higher volume vehicle in place of Supra or whatever

Can anyone tell me what happens when you get the notice that your car is being built? Specifically, do you get a chance to change any options before it goes into production?

I have a '23 premium on order in white, but I really want matte white. If my car gets kicked to a '24 model and I can choose the matte white I will be a very happy dude! (this is assuming the matte rumor is true)

You think this is McDonald's? 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. J/K. Reach out to your dealer with your intention and have him watch out for allocations. But, you may have to assure them that you'll buy the absolute zero white or they may just pull the plug or pass up on you and maybe they won't ever get a matte..

No one in this forum or the dealer will have an answer for you.

Gotcha. So you're saying be proactive and tell them I want the matte white or they might not even try to get one?

You might get pushed down the list or wait even longer till your dealer gets one. Toyota is allocation based, you don't get to request a build. You'd essentially be starting from the start.

While I always though it was a pipe dream, since the GT special edition cars are B58s, surely we can put the rumor of an S58 appearing in the Supra to bed.. at least for MY24.
It would kill the M2s sales and steal it's thunder. Why would BMW give Toyota the S58 to go into a lighter chasis? BMW wouldn't want that and this is the problem when you '"collaborate"

I would communicate your color preference to your sales person. As others have mentioned Toyota is allocation based where the dealer gets allocated a model/color and they cannot change it. The dealer can wait to see if they get allocated the color you want. The only options I was offered we port installed options, like carbon mirror caps, wheel locks, cargo mat, etc.

Bmw have not sold an M engine to other manufacturers to use
But they just broke their own rule by letting land rover use the s68 in their new suv
So all bets are off with S58 GRMN Zupra

Happy to take that bet.

Nevermind what BMW want.. how stupid would it be to put a more powerful engine in your street car than your race spec GT4?

Makes. Absolutely. No. Sense.

Ok so that's what I was wondering. Sounds like whatever I chose when I gave my deposit is what I'll get and no way to change any options.

If your desposit is fully refundable, you could roll the dice and put in another fully refundable deposit at another dealer in your new spec.

I considered doing this, even though it could potentially get messy.

happens all the time. most gt4 spec race engines are detuned from the street, except for the b58 which had to be uprated.
