Nevermind what BMW want.. how stupid would it be to put a more powerful engine in your street car than your race spec GT4?
This is actually very normal lol. GT4 and other GT racing disciplines generally have a certain BoP taking in weight, power/torque, power/torque DELIVERY, fuel limit, and many other things into account.

Can anyone tell me what happens when you get the notice that your car is being built? Specifically, do you get a chance to change any options before it goes into production?

I have a '23 premium on order in white, but I really want matte white. If my car gets kicked to a '24 model and I can choose the matte white I will be a very happy dude! (this is assuming the matte rumor is true)
You could always do matte PPF

Anybody else have a feeling a 2024 announcement will be coming by end of this month? Looking at previous years, those were announced in June except for 2023 where it was in late April.

Is 2023 model year a mid-cycle refresh?

Typically a mid-cycle refresh occurs every 3-4 years after the initial launch. Being that 2023 received a manual, new wheels, suspension tweaks, is this considered a mid-cycle refresh?

Rumors of 2024 model year indicate that there will be a special orange color, and 2025 will be the last year the Supra is made. Probably safe to assume there will be a "send off" model for 2025.

Probably:thumbsup: Who knows, maybe something awesome is waiting to be announced.
I hope so but when the manual got announced, they announced it last April so i’m thinking if it was something awesome, they would have said something by now but you’re right, who knows!

Announcements have been different every year. 2021 was announced Feb 2020. 2022 was June 2021. 2023 was April of 2022.

I just talked to my sales rep and I hope the info he gave is correct as it does counter what some of you are saying.

He said that when the dealer gets the notice that the car is going into production, they will let me know and I can change options. Mine is most likely going to be a '24 model so if the rumor is true about a color change (matte white), I can in fact get that color. Fingers crossed...

That car is going into production regardless. You don't get build choice. You get a request and wait for the allocation. Yes you can change what you want, but that car that's going into production isn't gonna swap colors for you. You'd wait again for the next allocation to come up with your new color choice.

This is why I said that I hope what the dealer said is true. I asked specifically about the paint color and he said yes, you can change it. I'm not getting my hopes up too much...time will tell. I mean heck, the color change is just a rumor at this point anyway.
