The road & track Ohlins feel incredible on track (stock top hats, SPL LCA, Ohlins springs, 7 clicks? - track suggestion in the installation manual). Anyway, took her to work recently, flew over a railroad track ?, pretty decent quick incline & decline, gotta say, they feel much better on track ?

Damn she’s so buttoned down now - in a good way! I’ll go much slower over that railroad track next time ?

I'm currently on SPL LCAs with stock suspension and tophats. The Ohlins will be SPL LCAs and camber plates.
Nice! So you’ll be using Sean’s (Evo) machine shop method to incorporate camber plates with the Ohlins? I sold mine ? and went back to the OEM top hats for simplicity sake. Solely using my adjustable control arms for the negative camber.

My understanding is the Vorshlag fits the top of the Ohlins shaft just fine, it just adds some length to the strut assembly. I'm going with a shorter Swift spring with a helper spring, and 3DM is doing some internal modifications to the shock to add back ~10mm of travel.

I went over all the pages, still confused. Does the Ohlins Road and Track coilovers work with SPL LCA + Sway endlinks out of the box or we all need to make phone call SPL and get help like others did?

Totally understandable. They definitely work! The biggest issue was top hats for me. If you have camber plates you’ll need to make some adjustments. Otherwise, they are meant for the OEM top hats. I sold my camber plates and put my OEM top hats back on. So now all my camber adjustments are made via the control arms.

Other issues have to do with proper installation with aftermarket parts. Nowadays it’s hard to find a true mechanic imo. The dealers buy and replace parts. Most problems I‘ve read on this forum I haven’t had, simply because I take my car to an independent BMW mechanic. He‘s has years of experience and has been on his own for a while. His buddy runs a VW/Porsche tuner shop next door. They came from the same dealer long ago and opened their own places.

Took this picture just yesterday. Went in for an oil change and minor adjustments until I can make it to the race alignment shop (got new rear axels since no boot kit available yet).
*pic is of my buddy Ricky & owner at Fuji-San automotive.

Anyways, I have another local Supra friend that did the exact same thing as me. Ohlins, sway bars and SPL adjustable control arms. Not a single issue. My SPL end links were turned and caused some issues. Bryan (Razorlab) noticed it on another thread and @Evolution gave some stellar top hat advice. I’m pretty sure Sean didn’t have any problems with his LCA & Ohlins.

So like anything, if not doing it yourself, make sure you have someone that will take ownership and doesn’t take ? personally. Anyone in the aftermarket industry knows these things can take time (& patience). If you or a friend has performance upgrade experience, you shouldn’t have any problems. I think they are an incredible bang for the buck!

That being said, y’all rebuild your Ohlins every 2 years? Another Ohlins owner recommended I do so every two years or go by feel. Since I mainly track, I’m thinking this will be a $500 (approximate cost) piece of mind.

Love it, thanks man. I mean I like camber plates...I'd rather go camber plates + coilovers instead of LCA as I am more akin to camber plates (and bolts) on my previous track cars but oh well.

You think 18x11 275/35/18 square SPL LCA +endlinks ohlins road and track good for -3.5+ camber on the front?

I have the Verus camber plates on my Ohlins (modifications needed to run them) and I easily hit 3.5° camber with stock arms. Also on 18x11s up front. Just be ready to lose half your turning radius haha.

Would the turning radius be saved with LCAs or its just the nature of the beast with 11s up front?

You can increase your ride height and get spacers. I do have spacers and running -3.2 to -3.3 this go round,. on a 275/35-18 square setup. I had the spacers for another dumb reason, self inflicted. But now that I have them, it‘ll help as Sean mentions (with rub).

I can vouch SPL endlinks work just fine.

A dedicated track shop has my car atm. They said I coulda (shoulda) kept my Verus adjustable top hats (like Sean did) ??‍♂ So I really think it boils down to finding the right shop to service them and having the time during the install. I was in a rush and my main mechanic was fantastic to oblige. But this definitely isn’t his forte.

General update. Increasing my ride height again and going down (stiffer) another 2 clicks to 5 on the dampening. I’m still happy as a pig ? in ? and plan on doing a rebuild after this season.

I just purchased these made for the Ohlins:

https://vorshlag-store.com/products/vorshlag-toyota-a90-supra-2020-up-camber-plates-coilover-perches

When you select the Ohlins for strut type - it will say 2.5” perch. So you select that from the next drop down below. If you try to select a different size, it will say unavailable. They make them in house. I was told they will ship them out on Monday. Great knowledgable company to talk to!

Bonus, I get additional camber adjustments up top. So a lot more flexibility moving the tire from the top and at the bottom with my lower SPL control arms. I was getting some spring binding with my OEM top hats. These adjustable mounts fixed that. Was happy to find this Vorschlag solution :)

Plenty stiff for me and there’s plenty of room for adjustments. Spring preload, ride height and dampening.

I‘ve only been on them at the end of my last season (1 - 2 track weekends) and this season is just beginning.

Still loving them! No different springs for me just yet… There’s plenty of adjustments the shop are still working with me/ feedback. Spring preload, ride height and dampening.

I‘ve only been on them at the end of my last season (1 - 2 track weekends) and this season is just beginning (only one so far).
What are the stock springs? Also is the rear divorced?
